I'm curious what people think about the front-end ground clearance in GT (non-PE), given that it's fairly low and has a front splitter that sticks out a bit. Do you regularly find yourself having to enter driveways/parking lots at an angle to avoid scraping? Or have to be super cautious with speed bumps?

As background, I currently drive a BMW m235 with a really obnoxious (but attractive) splitter that was installed by the dealer. The clearance is only about 4 inches, which I know is less than the GT, but I'm constantly having to be extra careful not to scrape it or break it off. I made many promises to my partner that our next car *would not* have this issue--and I'm looking for validation that I was hopefully right...

I have a Sto-n-Sho front license plate, and it has scraped on severe angles. I have not had the car scrape yet.

When I got my GT (not PE), I had the same concern. Had it for 4 months, not 1 scape yet. And I drive exclusively in the concrete jungle & curb rash minefield that is West Los Angeles.

GTPE, no issues here. Clears parking stops, speed bumps and steep driveways just fine.

My standard GT has been fine as well. My kids’ school has a couple of nasty speed bumps that I take slowly but no scrapes. Going up into my driveway isn’t an issue either.

Never had any issues with our GT, but then I am used to my GT350 in the summer which is much lower.

Wouldn't try any extreme offroading with it though.

I've never yet had a problem with driveways or speed bumps. I am extra careful with obstructions in front of the car - like a curb in front of a parking space - I stay behind them cuz the front end may not be high enough to clear a curb. The camera helps with that, so long as you approach slowly (or just turn it on manually).

Thanks all! Super helpful and reassuring.

I won't miss having to be "that guy" who has to take parking lot and driveway entrances at ridiculous angles.

Only concern for me has been when parking, but the sensors seem to be doing a pretty good job there. I think it's a hair lower than my old V8 GT (so some extra caution) but I managed to never scrape that thing in 13 years of driving.

Already banged the corner of it into my garage. Once I got used to the extra entension distance, I'm more careful in judging turns in tight places.

I have plenty of frequently visited places that I have to be careful to avoid scraping the front splitter in my Camaro, but no issues at any of them with the Mach-E.

I will say that you should watch out for scraping the bottom of the doors on curbs though. They come down much lower than any other SUV I've ever been in because they cover the entire battery.
