I love my Mach E Premium, but this is the worst handling vehicle I have owned in the last several years. My wife's Toyota Corolla SE handles better than the Mach. Any suggestions that I can do to make it better?

Can you clarify how the handling is bad?

What do I need to clarify. How about curves for one.

Um. It's a really heavy car. And it's on relatively skinny fuel efficient tires. Wider wheels and more performance-oriented tires may help? Or slow down. But that probably isn't as fun.

Is it an issue at the limit? Is it unbalanced? ?‍♂?

The first thing I usually do to a car is a set of anti-sway bars, then I look at how the body roll affects the contact patch and adjust static camber accordingly. I'd go for the stiffest front bar I could find, then tune the balance with a properly-selected rear bar. Since you have a Premium, I'd maybe go for the rear Koni shocks that @markboris posted about putting on before the bars. After the bars I would put on wider wheels and wider and stickier tires. Then I'd go for a lower ride height and then mess with the alignment again. After that? Lots of stuff can still be done, but those are the biggest bang for your buck items. The rest will get you small incremental increases at the expense of ride quality. The above named items won't sacrifice that much ride quality. ??

Funny compared to a Toyota Camry which is FWD.

Are you talking about the ride quality or sporty handling ?

I find my Premium MME handles like my 1990-2010 BMWs (E90, E91, E53, E70).

50:50 weight distribution, RWD bias, power thru curves/turns with grip, and rides stiff like it has RFT.

Just the handling. I am coming from an Alfa Romeo. Maybe it shouldn't been named a Mustang. Still love it though.
Wheels/tires, new suspension bits, buy a GTPE?

If handling was important, why didnt you buy the better handling model? The premium is .85 G on the skidpad while the GTPE is .96-.99 depending on the test. It’s not even close.

That's a huge difference. I never would have thought that.

Back to back my wife's ext AWD vs my GT is night and day. Stiffer springs, more aggressive damping and better tires on wider wheels transforms the vehicle. They gave options if handling was something your prioritized and I think you just chose wrong.

Interesting take. Corolla SE huh? I come from a long line of good to great handling cars and the Mach E in any form has a neutral chassis balance (allows a bit of tail out fun at low speeds), firm but controlled ride, much better than average steering precision and good lateral grip, even with the OEM 225 section width tires. We put 20” wheels with 255s on hers but the OEM set up was far from “poor handling”. In fact, the handling aspect is one that has garnered much praise of the MME in the press.

What is your specific issue?

Just to be honest here, most folks struggle to hit even .70-.75G on public roads. And That .85G is on the OEM touring all seasons, the 4X summers are prob good for .90G if I had to guess. It’s definitely tire-limited non-GT form.

But yes, if handling is a top priority, a good set of tires plus maybe the Steeda sway bars will really tighten things up. Or a GT….

Well, at least crappy reliability won’t scare you. ??

If the handling is terrible, then it's most certainly a Mustang!
As the great sage Charles De Mar once said, "Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn." Only, mostly don't turn.
