My tires are slightly low (36 PSI cold, all around, according to the TPMS). In the past, I’d just head over to Wawa (a convenience store) and add air from the air compressor there. It dawned on me that our cars come with an air compressor, so I should be able to save myself a trip. Has anyone added air using the compressor that comes with the car? How did it work out?

I haven't done it with the MME's, but I did use the almost identical unit that came with my RDX a while back. It's fine. Just make ABSOLUTELY sure you're not in the "fix" mode that sprays the sealant into the tire and that you're just using the air mode.

Jim give it a try. It works great! I've used the provided air compressor several times now.

Turn the vehicle ON in order to run the air compressor pump.

Use the rear 12V outlet for the rear wheels, and the center console one for the front wheels.

Starting from your current 36 psi, try running the pump for 10-15 seconds and see where that gets you.

Super optional but nerdy tip: Bring up the "Tire Pressure" app on your SYNC display. It will update the tire pressure at each wheel approximately once every few minutes. I was able to use this to verify that the vehicle had recorded each sensor's location accurately. (It was correct.)

Yes I helped a very attractive young nanny pump up her tire. Knight in shining armour one morning at school drop off. Works well. I have also pumped my tires up with them.
two questions:

  1. I thought you blokes called them "tyres"?
  2. Do I need to write you a ticket here?

Your knights still wear armor? Wow! There’s a TV show I watch called the great British baking show and the contestants are from all over Britain. I have to turn on captioning because some of the accents (particularly some of the northern ones, and I think some of the ones from Wales?) are totally indecipherable. They may as well be from Louisiana!

Not sure if it’s true, but I was told that, apparently, the English spoken in the northeastern US (Philadelphia, NY, Boston) is actually closer to the English spoken in Britain in the 17th century than the English spoken in Britain today. Supposedly, British English began to drift around the time of the industrial revolution as part of class stratification. We were still largely an agrarian society.

Up til now I'd always assumed these compressor rigs were for use to fix flats. Good to know.

Fallas! I searched for this post to get a feedback as I was going to use mine for the first time. I was even going to brag about it having a 10 ft power cord and attachments for smaller tires or air mattresses. But no! My story ends up horrible. I've deflated the tire considerably because I intended to use the embed sealant. I was tired of adding air everyday because of a leak.
It was going fine until the gauge jump from 70 to 100 psi. Followed by a noise as if it was asking for help and then - smoke. Thanks God I was paying attention and if was not sitting inside the trunk. See images below.

Yup. There was a shift in pronunciation in England in the wake of the Industrial Revolution as many working class people became wealthy. They introduced more nonrhotic elements to the language ultimately resulting in the type of accent we associate with the greater London area. Prior to then both the American and English upper classes spoke with rhotic elements (pronouncing the “r” in hard, park, etc). That was the initial diversion.

Or so I’ve read anyway. My mother and her family were/are all Scottish. Why Americans talked so odd always mildly interested me. ;)
