Hey, welcome! That's a sharp looking car.

What high school did you go to? (I kid, but I lived in STL for 7 years, so I know the social customs)

By wireless charging, are you referring to the phone charger? If so, the TWRAPS wireless charging mat seems to be well loved on these forums? (I don't have one myself, and don't get paid for recommending them - but I've seen dozens of happy posts about them and no complaints)

Welcome. I just joined yesterday, so I'm happy to see another newbie here.

Yes, the wireless pad isn't great. I'm coming to the mach-e from a car that didn't have one at all, so I am used to using USB for that, anyway. The USB-C port is fairly fast, so at least we have that option!

I lived in STL for years, still have family in St Charles.

What issue are you having with charging? My mag charger always works fine with my iPhone 15.

I own a 2025 MME GTPE in Velocity Blue. Glad to have these forums available. I love the car and want to fire the person responsible for wireless charging.

I went to school in Illinois so nobody cares where 😂

It's the wireless phone cooker in the center console. I've seen the Twraps solution but to me that's just a workaround rather than a fix. Both my Chevy and VW have no problems charging my Pixel and I'm floored that it's such a failure in the MME.

I prefer the black wheels! I've added some tire shine since I took that photo which makes the whole thing look slick.

Charger either doesn't charge at all, or cooks the phone. Tried with four different Pixel phones.

Based on many forum recommendations, we bought one and like it. Works with our thick mag safe cases on iPhones large and small.

Welcome! Velocity Blue always looks good.

Your definitions of "workaround" and "fix," and your preference of one over the other, sound overly rigid to me. It's true that the Twraps charger doesn't "fix" the built-in Ford phone charger. Instead, it takes its place and does a much, MUCH better job at its intended function. Ford is never going to fix the charger that comes built into the car. It's had a reputation as a phone cooker since inception, and all they've done is make one attempt at a different rubber mat to reposition phones (now THAT was a workaround - which didn't work). And even if they made more of an attempt to fix it, it is very unlikely they'd be as successful as Twraps' device.

So the question becomes, do you want to keep complaining about Ford's implementation or do you want a solution that works?

Me personally? I don't care if something is technically a "workaround" as long as it works well, and especially if a true "fix" is never going to happen.

(I am not affiliated with Twraps and receive nothing for promoting them)

Thanks for the thoughts! I'm going to continue to complain until the thing advertised with the vehicle works as advertised 🙂

Like some others the visible cord is not acceptable to me for aesthetic purposes. If TWRAPS modified their product to have a sort of flap that plugs in they might have a real winner.

Until then, I have a couple ideas of my own.
