Anytime my phone has not been recognized/car will not start I toggle the bluetooth off and on on my phone, then it connects. My car will show connected to the sync, and I see it connected, but like others said, the PaaK is a separate bluetooth connection that causes the issues. There has been an issue with this on Pixel phones for some time, possibly all android.

So no luck yet. I went back to the car without my phone after a couple of hours to see if I could get the passkey prompt to show up. Giving up and will just have to use the key fob.

When the screen turns on when you open the door, hold down volume down and track forward on the steering wheel to reboot it. If the SCCM is alive it should reboot.
The screen is on. Radio is working. Android auto is working. But I cannot get it to reboot.

It's an intermittent bug. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do if you've tried all of the aforementioned "tricks". This happened to me a couple years ago when they pushed an update that invalidated the PaaK keys. I couldn't get the passcode screen to appear either. I had to have an Uber bring me my key from home.

Now I keep a key fob without the battery installed in a super top secret place, like the glove box (shhhh!), in the car.

So the trick is there are 2 bluetooth connections. One is for sync, one is for the key. The one in your screenshot is for sync. The one for the key isn 't visible in the BT menu on Samsung phones.

The only way to tell it's connected is in the FordPass app. The text under the lock/unlock/start buttons that will say "Bluetooth Connected"

Mine says disconnected currently as I'm not by my vehicle

It happened to me too on an update. I bravely chose to update right before leaving work and then got stuck fighting to get PaaK to work or the passcode. I actually started opening up frunk panels to disconnect 12V when I remembered I had a key fob tucked away in a Faraday bag. That saved me. Never happened ever again.

Yes. Rebooted phone, turned BT off and on in both phone and car, and all of the other possible solutions mentioned here. I think if SYNC4 could be rebooted, it may have fixed it.

If you have done a full reboot on your phone, I'm guessing that the RFA is at fault here. That's the module that handles the Bluetooth connection for phone as a key. Resetting Sync won't do much for that problem. A 12v battery pull could reset that though

I wonder what's causing Sync to not display the passcode screen. Does the RFA signal to Sync that a passcode is required?

I'm actually not sure on that one. That would make sense to me, but I'm not sure of the flow in that scenario
