Good point. This all seems pretty silly. With all the user-selectable features this vehicle has, why not make this one of them? Default: the car does whatever Ford thinks is the least bad. Selectable: if there’s external power available use it for battery cooling, but only charge the battery within whatever parameters (time, charge level) the user has chosen. Seems like a pretty simple software fix to me.
