Popped up during my drive. Power is reduced. 76 percent battery. Afraid if I turn the car off it may not start again. Currently out and about.

It's almost certainly the HVBJB and if so it will be covered

You will need to see what codes are causing the warning messages to determine the severity of it.

If this turns out to be the HVBJB, you will still be under warranty for it since most of the high voltage battery electric system has an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty to it (the HVBJB is part of that warranty). Even if it turned out to be something else, your dealer can ask (or even self authorize) a goodwill repair since it is so close to warranty.

There is no recall on the part. The recall is to provide software to give the notification.

If the part fails outside the 8 year / 100,000 mile warranty, then it would be up to the manufacturer as to whether they'd provide coverage.

If I were Ford, I would eventually provide warranty extension on the HVBJB on all Mach-Es made before 5/25/22, due to the high failure rate. But that's a ways off, because they're nowhere near 8/100,000 on 99.9% of the cars.

The recall is only to install software to alert the driver that there is a problem with the HVBJB. The part itself is not under any recall or extended warranty period.

I got it to the dealer yesterday, and it is a junction box issue. They have my car and have no idea when the part will come in as they have no ETA. I have a loaner...but a weird stipulation. I cant drive more than 500 miles. As a realtor who drives 3,000 a month and went electric to avoid gas prices, this whole situation is real crappy.

I'm in a bronco sport for the time being. My road trip plans this weekend have now changed as well

Sadly not weird or uncommon anymore. Pretty normal restriction on loaners now.
