Bumping because this is on my mind. Non-car-nut-spouse is taking the Mach-E on a one-charge trip to visit a friend. I started to say, "use the Ford Navigation," but then realized she'd be missing charging stations, and not just a few.
Ford Nav is only moderately competent at routing and traffic, compared to Google Maps, as well.

Does spouse have an iphone or an android phone? Possible to suggest plugging in and using either, with google maps?

Yes, I am just going to suggest Apple Maps for her. It’s one of the reasons why I bought the car: Apple Maps is a system she’ll use.

But the original point still stands: why no Superchargers in the native navigation?

Nobody knows. Supposedly, they’re in the 2025 navigation system so there’s hope.

Superchargers in the native navigation?
They’re working on it. It’s a bit complicated I think. The maps are provided by Here. Here uses a Garmin system and then they have to be translated into whatever format Ford uses to push to our cars.

Cooks and broth I think.

They should try using ai. It makes a hash of code and data much faster than humans ever could.

But being a non apple person i don't know how the charger stuff in apple maps is. Google maps also has quirks like deprioritizing superchargers when search along route, and a fairly obscure setting for if you have a nacs adapter. You might have to fool with it a little then show her....

Ps I was on a mini road trip this weekend and Google Maps absolutely refused to navigate to a particular supercharger I had previously identified, for a while.. Searches wouldn't find it. Then it seems it would later. "Glitches" happen but Google Maps has kind of a thing against superchargers, sometimes, it seems

I can confirm that Tesla Superchargers are included in the 2025 nav system. I have used it a couple of times now.

It’s not complicated, they just don’t care. Once u buy, previous model years get pushed to bottom of priority list or just left behind with no warning. (BC 1.5 for example)
They had the 2025 software ready for least 6 months already. This should have rolled out already.

The EV routing map space is just easier with Google. For the last 20+ years google has been the leader in Maps/Navigation, they will stay that leader as everyone transitions to EVs. Each OEM trying to do it and compete with Google is laughable.

Talk to Here Technologies. They’re in the Netherlands. The hangup could also be with Garmin, they’re in Kansas, or with company in Dearborn.

I prefer not to be a product that Google markets to their customers, so I will do everything I can to avoid their offerings.

Interestingly, if you pay them money (about $12 or $15 a month) for a Workplace account, that includes their corporate data protection, and they will not sell you.

Sorta makes sense that if you use a service for free they'll cover the costs one way, if you pay them, they won't, no?

There are other suppliers that don’t treat me as a product to be commoditized, so why should I pay Google to not commoditize me? I do not find any of their offerings THAT compelling.

And, there are actually companies building business models that include advertising, without commoditizing the users (such as DuckDuckGo).
