Hi @JohnFoxeSheets - We've already communicated how Tesla Superchargers integrate with Connected Navigation https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/tesla-superchargers-connected-navigation.42532/ earlier this year and this is on the road in 2025 F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E vehicles today. The goal is to keep that thread up to date if/as things change. No news isn't good news or bad news, it's no news. When there's something to share, I will.
Thanks for wading into the shark infested waters (or maybe we’re piranha?). While people may not agree, your comments are appreciated. We will try not to shoot the messenger. (That never ends well).

It still sucks that they took away the ability to route plan in the app. I just did a round trip from Northern MO to Savannah, GA. I'd hate to have to sit in my car and plan that trip. So I just used PlugShare. I know. I know. A lot like ABRP better. To each their own, but they should restore the ability to plan trips in the app.

The issue, I find, is percentage.

Having used google maps all over the world for decades (at least a decade, I remember getting put on a goat path in the andes about 10 years ago by google maps), I have experienced bad routes a handful of times. I have more problems with GPS than I do google maps routes.

Having used ford nav a handful of times, I have experienced bad routes about 25% of the time. It's always been last mile stuff where I'm trying to find the entrance to a charger and Ford Nav is hopeless.

Yes, I believe Google Maps takes updates more seriously. They also certainly have more users and more data.

Question remains - why use Ford nav? Why complain about Ford nav? Why not vote with the feet?
because I don't want to have to use carplay... I expect the built in app to work.

I concur with a wee bit of an edit…

“We will not shoot the messenger”.

Geez, it’s not even noon time on the big island, and back east we’re well into the shank of the cocktail (or wine) hour … ??

Mai tai hours are 6 am to 2 am 365.

Most of those hours my drug of choice is caffeine via coffee. :)

@Ford Motor Company :

This has become ridiculous. It's been well over a year since we gained access to Tesla Superchargers. The Ford Connected Navigation is a PAID subscription product. We all saw the promo that 2025s have this feature (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/announcing-tesla-superchargers-connected-navigation.42532/). Clearly this is technologically possible.
  • When do the rest of us gain the ability to navigate to Tesla Superchargers?
  • When do we get to precondition en route to them?
Many of us here have been quite patient (others not so patient). If Ford were giving us full access to Connected Navigation it would be one thing, but to pay for Connected Navigation and not get this update in over a year shows a real failing in Ford's software groups. Is Ford really not able to negotiate this under your contract with Garmin?
Agreed. I only use Tesla chargers now so have to rely on Plugshare.

Is there something that shows what the prices are at the DCFC stations? Does Google Maps show the prices?
No pricing. But I have EA and Tesla memberships, so public pricing does not apply anyway. Google does have their own charger rating system, like Plugshare.

I love my GT but, really tired of no or super long minimal updates on these cars ( don’t get me started on Tesla chargers in Nav.) last update was Oct. 2024.
So just did Tesla “ self serve” test drives all done through the app, no person on site, worked flawlessly and had each car for an hour!
New versions of 3 and Y are light years ahead of ford . Will be moving on from GT very shortly , as its bullshit that older model years don’t get same updates at the same time as newest years. There is no Real difference in the hardware that runs the systems currently.

You can use the public charging app to navigate to them. But you don’t get preconditioning.
You also can't get pre-conditioning without a subscription to the Navigation once it expires. Stupid.
FOrd needs to turn the "P" assist button into pre-condition.

I’d prefer to see the button turned into a useful park assist feature. Just precondition through the nav system.

Sadly, I think it’s going to take much longer than it took for me to download A Better Route Planner and begin using it.

I actually like the native navigation app. I prefer the “look” of its renderings and the way it auto zooms in and out over the Apple look and the Google look. I only use Apple Maps when I must and I avoid using Google (and will continue to do so until they give me what I consider a fair cut for their monetization of me).
I prefer to use native navigation so that my phone can be doing music/podcasts full screen, and I can still see the mini-card underneath that shows my next stop.
