I leased a '23 Extended AWD earlier this year when the RCL cash and restickering came about.

Since then my 2021 Job 1 has been parked. I start it twice a week to keep the 12V maintained, and have charged it as well.

Last week it got an update 'Smart Connectivity' or something having to do with keeping the 12V maintained and better prepped for updates.

Since then no fewer than 20+ times (that I know of) the hood has popped open. The car doesn't know it's doing it, and even alerted me when it was locked that the alarm was activated due to the hood being detected as open.

Now I'm sitting with a car that pops its hood twice per day, and I have to keep unlocked, otherwise it activates its alarm.

I was one of the first people with a front camera fault that luckily was fixed later and by a determined service tech, but now I have a 2021 sitting in my driveway that keeps popping the frunk.

Going to remove my car detailing supplies, but is there a fuse or something I can remove? Never was able to remotely open the hood, so this is sadly ironic.

Honestly would be worried if I was still driving this, as I got home around 1PM, saw the hood popped, so closed it again. 2 hours later it's opened.

Really annoying because I'm going to have to keep it covered in the driveway, and I can't lock the vehicle, because whatever part of the car is popping it open doesn't let the rest of it know, because a whiny alarm ensues. The first time it happened I didn't even know it was the Mach-E, I was expecting a horn.

I guess you could try resetting the RFA and/or the BCM, but I think @generaltso has the right of it. ??

Hi there, Phil! Go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer, and I’ll look into this concern regarding your hood opening. Thanks!

Sounds like some kind of short. You'll likely need a dealer to check it out.
I did notice the A/C vent things were open while the car's been off this last week, which I don't remember seeing before.

Was hoping it was the update, the one it got the night before starting this was 24-PU0121-FTDI-FX.

Thanks everyone, wasn't sure if I was the first to experience this.

Would this be something I could do easily? I don't have the FordScan or a laptop to make changes.

If anyone knows the fuse to pull, I haven't driven this car in a month or two and don't count on it, so if I could pull a fuse from it popping open and return it in September when the lease is up, that would be brilliant too!.

Thanks again everyone, incredibly helpful here

I suspect your 12v battery is the issue. Starting it isn't doing the job.

With the front things seemingly open when the cars off and not running AC you may be onto something.

Just found it weird that around the same time Job 1 2021's are getting the ability to remote open the frunk from the app, my Job 1 2021 starts popping its hood for the first time.

I've charged it once and used the Blower Fan method to get the last update to apply, I've kept it charged overnight to see if the gremlins continue.

Thanks everyone!

one thing that threw us quite off is that there's a way to trigger the frunk to open when you do the code to unlock the car from the driver side. The last digit of my code was also the one triggering the frunk to open, and my kids would quite often press the last button one more time, making the frunk pop open almost every time they would go and unlock the car.

This started working after an OTA update, we were quite confused by this when it started happening, but dealer (ford hotline in the end) quickly made us realize what was causing it. We changed our code after that, problem solved!

I suppose it doesn't have much to do with you, but sharing just in case!
