Their plan is to create mass chaos and division every day so we won't notice the things they are doing behind the curtain.
The things in the open are concerning enough….

I totally agree with that, but some really big unthinkable things are being done behind the smoke and mirrors. The chaos is real, but it's meant to be a distraction as well.

Nothing to do with tariffs. They’re charging MSRP because that’s the going rate around here. I haven’t seen any dealership raise prices in anticipation of tariffs. The dealership I’ve ordered through is a good but under MSRP, but I had to go out of state to get the deal. Have to pass like 6 Ford dealers to get to one that will cut a deal.. too many people around here willing to pay full price. SMH…
That’s kinda crazy. Around here Mach Es have been going well under MSRP for the last couple years.

Even around $11k under MSRP.

MSRP is what people were paying back in 2021-2022 covid times.

That’s why an MSRP car sounds to odd to me.

I'd have to think that's the difference between 2 states/areas that have a completely different view of EV's. $11K under MSRP? I find that hard to believe any dealer would discount that much and lose thousands on even 1 unit.

I wonder if that's really just for a lease, that's counting the $7500 tax credit?

Maybe. It's highly unlikely any dealer discounted that much off MSRP.

Like engineering a 3rd term for Herr Trump?

Or he simply has no idea what he is doing that it has gone from madness to being adorably entertaining.

No, these deals seem to be all over the place and were widely talked about here for a long time.

Example-
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/lease-vs-buy-24-gt.40769/

$11k off MSRP for a purchase and $13500 off for a lease.

So MSRP would seem insane to me.

And for a 2025 now? Well advertised at 5% off-

Here's your examples:

Purchase - $5,000 in rebates plus $6,000 off MSRP dealer discount. Will also do the 0%/72 months on roughly $48k purchase price.

Lease - $7,500 fed rebate plus $6k dealer discount so $13,500 off msrp or approx $46,000 lease price.

Those show a dealer discount of $6K, not $11K and certainly not $13,500. The rest is incentives. All I was saying is that no dealer is going to discount $11K off MSRP.

Yeah same in my area, you can easily get 4-8k off MSRP around my area. I was able to get 9500k off my GT last year (purchased not a lease)

But at the end off the day its still 11K or 13500 off MSRP , no matter if it a rebate or dealer discount.

The other poster was implying that dealers were discounting that much. Not the same as saying that dealer discounts plus incentives totaled the large discount.

I honestly have no idea how a tariff war would play out. Could get pretty ugly. But here are some basic principles:

1. A tariff fight is basically a game of chicken. But the American economy is massive, which basically makes us a semi in that game. Nobody would walk away unscathed, but you’d rather be the guy in the semi. We have more leverage.

2. Trump talked the same talk in his first term. Nothing much bad happened. More favorable trade deals were cut. Life went on.

3. Trump has a point that we need the level the playing field on tariffs.

4. At the end of the day, people just don’t understand Trump. He wants to win. That’s all he’s guided by. Racking up wins big and small. Wrecking the US economy is not a win.

Put these things together, and I’m just not gonna freak out about this. I think there’s a very good chance that this is all gonna work out just fine - and likely at least a little bit to our advantage. People need to stop freaking out. It’s exhausting and annoying.
4. Trump wants Trump to win. No evidence he cares about the US.

Well that’s just dumb. Trump doesn’t win unless the US wins.

Look, if you want to believe that he doesn’t care about furthering American prosperity and exceptionalism, I’m certainly not going to convince you otherwise. I wish you all the best.

I don’t know, Donnie and Melania both have a meme coin now. And he wants the US to have a reserve of meme coin…
