New owner here. Thought I had everything figured out but for some reason I can't get weather updates on the navigation screen like I can on my Bronco. It says it must be setup under the connections/modem. Huh? I think I have checked all the right boxes to get this to happen. Although I have not signed up for the hot spot, which I know is a trial run. Did that with the Bronco and it was hard to disconnect so if the hot spot is what controls that then I will not bother. But for my Bronco, which has Sync 4 too, it had nothing to do with it. Can someone explain what it takes to get weather updates in the Mach E?

I've never activated the hotspot, but weather updates work fine.

To get to them from the map display I tap the wrench icon (lower left corner) then tap Weather.

It may require several minutes of driving for the data to be up to date.

If you've checked everything in the Connected Services settings and it's still not working, I'm not sure why it isn't. Maybe others will have suggestions.

...and once the Weather small window comes up, you can tap the bottom "Forecast" button (lozenge?) for the daily combined temperature & precipitation gradient chart, and then tap the top tabs for a weekly seven-day forecast or for an at-the-moment radar regional precipitation coverage. During longer trips I find the radar color picture really useful for at-a-glance orientation what i might be driving into, or what's coming up behind me, etc.

....and to add a little more, if the vehicle is stationary and the radar screen is showing....you can press the play button and get an idea of how the weather is moving.

Thanks for all this great info as I am really jealous that I can't see any of it but I still don't know why I can't get this info. I may go out and take a quick pic of the screen error message.

I also cannot get hands free BlueCruise to work after 3 days of driving on I 85 between Charlotte and Greenville. It will do everything but handsfree, guide me between lanes, even change lanes, but I have to keep my hands touching the wheel. No other indication as why (I looked through the manual). Tomorrow I will take a different interstate just to see if BlueCruise will work.

Ford Mustang Mach-E How do I get weather updates in Nav Screen? 20221225_220954

Update: so i went thru the Manual and saw where I needed to reach additional settings that I think controls this. But I believe that has shed some light on the problem.... When I go to the Connectivity Setting screen and push "Connected Vehicle Features" it will not expand. It seems like it's locked out to me! The dealership setup a profile for my wife before we left but I did for myself at home. Could that have something to do with it? It will only work for her profile? So confusing... Going to find her key and try it.... Although that might be hard to do this late.

Sounds like you have connected vehicle data turned off, it's the first slider on that Connectivity screen I believe.
Thanks but see my update to the post above. I think I know why its not working but still dont know how to fix it...

Looks like it’s not activated at all, maybe dealer skipped a step? You don’t need your wife’s key to switch profiles, also that’s a global setting, so shouldn’t matter. Does your remote start work outside of bluetooth range?

Put your key away and try your wife's key. If that's allowing you to see more settings (including Connectivity options) then maybe you turned your key into a MyKey? MyKey is limited functionality, intended mostly for teenagers.

If that's not it, call Ford and/or check with your dealer. Something may not have been activated properly.

When you log in to ford.com, what do you see for connected services like BlueCruise and FordPass Charge Network?

Hi all, thanks for the tips. Late last night I was able to to find/try my wife's key and then her phone. None of that helped as Connectivity Settings would still not expand. Our Ford Pass Apps both show these services as turned on (both BlueCruise, FordPass, Charge Network, etc. so I dont think that is it either. I agree, at this point I am going to have to contact Ford. I wonder if that Virtual Reality service they have on their website would help.

have you tried a forced Sync reboot?

hold the seek right and volume down buttons on the steering wheel controls.

in this case I don't expect it to help, but it's an easy thing to try.

Couple things,

The HotSpot has nothing to do with it. The car has its own SIM card and does its own thing without any intervention from you. The HotSpot is just an additional feature for sharing the that connection with other devices in the car.

If you just picked up your car, it might just not be active yet. Ford seems to take a few days to activate connectivity items for some reason. Give it a few days and see if it just magically starts working on its own.

Might be the case as I got it on Dec 23rd, just before Christmas Eve. Question, could that be the same for BlueCruise? I cannot get to total handsfree mode on my local interstates but everything else seems to be working in the "hands on mode", including lane change and lane keeping. It will steer itself before asking me to put my hands back on wheel.

Here is the page out of the manual. My car is doing everything but the Hands Free mode as described on top right (and I have never seen that graphic but have seen the others). I have not seen some of the other notifications that could describe why (such as can't see my eyes, etc.) and have went through the checklist that would prevent this from coming on and still cannot figure out why its not working other than its not active in my area. As I said earlier, I am going to try a different interstate today.
