Update: decided to do what someone else here suggested. I found a car with everything exactly the way I ordered it in Space white, it has 4000 miles on it and i decided to cancel my order and buy that one. I decided I was tired of waiting.

That's what a number of us have done. Enjoy your new Mach E!

PS- You should have no difficulty getting your deposit back. Everyone who has cancelled on the forum says that they do. Since you have a description of the one you have on order, you could post it and if anybody on the forum wanted a car like that (and is way back in line) they may want to purchase it. I did that and the next day somebody PM'd me asking about the car I ordered. I put him in contact with my dealer and he ended up putting $1,000 down on the car. It was built May 28th and should arrive sometime in July (Ford gave him a July 21st date). He originally thought October because he had just ordered the car.

Assuming you bought a demo, were you able to get a discount off of MSRP?

I hope you are right. We are going on a road trip tomorrow but I am going into the Ford dealer on Monday to cancel the order officially. Someone told me I would only get back 500.00. Guess we will see.

Question: The charger cord that came with the car gets warm when charging and the garage actually gets warm as well. Anyone else have that?

There is suddenly a ton of Mannequin cars available at Ford dealerships all across the country at cars.com. Many at MSRP. Folks should at least look them over to see if they are interested.

This is not the right thread for your question... But anyway:

My garage is hot because it's late Spring. It will stay hot until mid-November regardless of whether I have any vehicle in there. :(

I checked my mobile charger with an infrared thermometer. While charging for about an hour, the bottom of the unit and the cable from the unit to the vehicle would reach up to 126F. The rest of the setup was significantly cooler (top of unit, unit to wall outlet, and the vehicle).

At 125F or so, the amber light turns on to the left of the normal blue light on the mobile EVSE. When amber is solid and blue is pulsing, it means the charging is still happening but at a lower speed because the EVSE is too hot.

Hello,
I checked with my dealership to get an update. They claim that the ETA is still the end of the is month. Below is the clip they sent me. I am assuming this means while it says it has shipped 20th of May it is still sitting in a railcar in Mexico.

In 2013 my Fusion Energi was picked up in Mexico by Union Pacific and taken to the Chicago interchange yard. There the rail car was switched to a CSX train that brought it to Philadelphia. The build day for the car was April 1, 2013. The ship day was April 2. 2013. On April 15, 2013 I parked it in my garage.

Now Kansas City Southern is in the picture. I have not found any way to track a KCS rail car but the inference from reading the forum is it takes 14 days for them to move it to Kansas City. I assume that CSX will pick it up there but the vehicle may need to be unloaded from the KCS rail car and loaded onto a CSX rail car for the remainder of the trip. It may sit in a parking lot for several days before the transfer is complete. My car was shipped on June 1 and the shipping estimate is 38 days. Using KCS must be saving Ford a lot of money. They appear to not care about the aggravation factor for their customers.

May be time to invest in a shop fan to blow on the EVSE when it charges, maybe put an exhaust fan in the garage.

In all likelihood, it was loaded onto a rail car (the one listed) on May 20th. It may or may not have left the factory that day. Once it started rolling it takes about 14 days to reach Kansas City on KCS railroad. After that, it will sit there for an indeterminate number of days before Jack Cooper moves it to another railroad yard for shipment near its final destination or puts it on one of their trucks for delivery to your dealer (if that's close enough to Kansas City Mo). Welcome to the information black hole.

The tracks to the factory are KCS tracks anyone else operates on them by agreement with KCS. Plus the class of tracks from the Cuautitlan Stamping and Assembly Plant do not allow for even a moderate speed train. Things have changed in the logistics business since 2013. A lot.
