It is obviously your car, but I would say go for it. Color is such a big part of owning the car. But then, we got a GT for my wife just to get Cyber orange, so that is an extra $5k for a color (plus some bonus performance).

Gotta factor the color in, too. Barring a change from Ford, there will be no more IB MMEs.
One thing that I struggle with is ... if there's every an instance that you'll need more IB (Bodywork, etc. ) will that be an issue 2 - 3 years down the line?

But for me and my wife color is not a big deal so we walked when there's a ADM/add-on even if we prefer IB.

Body shops mix paint on site, so I don't see any potential issue if it is needed in the future.

There's an IB Premium AWD EXT with a black interior that will be delivered to Autonation Ford Frisco (Frisco, TX) in the next week that I abandoned. I don't know if they have a buyer lined up for it yet but that might be another option if you want to negotiate with another dealer or your current option falls through. DM me and I can send you the VIN. They can call me to confirm I'm abandoning the order if they want to, I called and told them but it wasn't really a formal thing.

I have a Premium IB AWD EXT Battery and love love love love love the color with the Space White interior. I love that too. $2300 while it is a lot is probably worth it with this situation. I originally wanted IB, it was discontinued and settled with ordering my second choice Space White, but a forum member here posted that their canceled order in IB was available. Its your hard earned money, but if I were in your shoes I would pull the trigger

We ordered both of ours on May 3. My wife was called a week later by the dealer with a cancelled order with her exact car, to be delivered in about 3 weeks. Straight MSRP.

I was called 8/20 with my exact car but for the color. I took it at $3,000 ADM.

It's 9/8 and our cars are still not scheduled for production.

We paid an average of $1,500 each ADM to get our cars many months early. And, if we had canceled to get '22s instead the price may jump and ADM would certainly be higher than $1,500/each.

Grab it now. You can't predict the future, but we can gue$$.

I'd pay up to $10K more for the blue if a local dealership has a new one.
I'd be tempted to sell my low mileage IB (just rolled over 1000) if it meant getting a GB GT without loosing too much on the trade. (I had AZ pricing so maybe I wouldn't loose too much over the normal difference).

I paid $2k more for my blue Mach E. I feel bad giving in to the vultures at dealerships but in the current state of car sales, there’s not much to do about it if you want what you want.

The manager went to lunch! ?
I do like haggling via text message, I'm a lot tougher than in person. Can someone go and do the in person turn down for all the warranty/service stuff for me at the dealership though? I'm too nice. Or can I request to sit in a separate room and text them no.

I did find out that I would have to pay $600 eventually for the Blue Cruise when that update came through.
When I built my car, I waffled between red and grey. Finally decided on grey but now I keep dreaming about myself in a red car. But I can just imaging the tickets I'd get in a red car.
I love the idea of the Infinite Blue. It's my unicorn. My car that blew up was a unicorn color and I loved it. There was only 1 other car in that color in town.
the blue cruise is optional. I'll certainly not buy it as it's of no use, keep in mind that $600 is for a 3 year subscription if I recall, so it will be a recurring fee.

It's up to you to decide if you will get more enjoyment from the infinite Blue. I always would tell my friends when they bought a car and asked if they got a good deal. Are you happy with your new car? If you are then it was a good deal.
Mario nails it here. If it has what you want, with the color that you want and is no longer available and you will be happy with it, then the $2300 fades away over time. Keep in mind it is a very strange time to be buying a car - and solar as my wife and I are finding out - but this is the deal you can get. Be happy that you were able to get what you wanted rather than frustrated that you saved 4% and didn't get what you wanted. You will smile everytime you look at that Infinite Blue.

Listen, here's the deal. I know people are saying "don't pay ADM" and I'm sure there are some dealers that won't or you can get a car without it. However, there is a real shortage of not just this car, but ALL cars. It's a sellers market. I paid 2250 ADM, but I also got the 1500 rebate from California on the spot, and decent financing. I also paid close to 3k extra for the Ford bumper to bumper for 8 years. I got what I wanted, and I know that there will be fewer than 20k of 2021 MMEs on the streets of the US by the years end, and I have mine. By all means, if you can avoid paying any ADM, do so. Jump on buying one, even if you have to pay up to 3k ADM, you might not get another chance.

Except you can't sell for 6 months since you bought with A/Z.
