Keep your foot out of it and give it time to learn your driving style. It’s referred to as GOM (Guess O Meter) for a reason lol.

Cold kills range. It’s been cold recently. Not much you can do about that. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Speed and quick acceleration are huge enemies for fuel economy. If you drive fast on the freeway or accelerate hard, your economy suffers. You could drive slower and accelerate in a more leisurely fashion. 🤔🐩

The heater sucks a lot of juice. If you are using it a lot, turn its temperature down (or disable heat completely) and use the seat and steering wheel heat. 😁🐩

The only time I ever care about range is when I’m road tripping. It’s a noticeable difference between 75 and 80mph and absolutely huge difference between 70 and 80.

The internet tells me it’s a nearly 20% range loss due to aerodynamic drag for driving 70mph vs. 80mph.

For my own sanity, I usually set the cruise between 72 and 77 mph.

At least your GT charges A LOT faster than my GT.

Make sure your tires are inflated properly.

Use the This Trip app to determine how much juice is going to driving vs. environment.

Last summer I was getting close to 260 miles on a charge. Now it's about 225.

Drive slower, make it warmer outside, check your tire pressure. It’s a Guess-O-Meter. If you want accurate efficiency stats, go by your miles / kWh in the trip computer.

  • For more winter range, set Departure times while plugged in before leaving, but with Climate Off in the app.
    • Use heated seats and steering wheel instead of hot air
    • If off plug, no luck

  • Off plug, to be able to drive like a maniac soon, set Departure time, Climate on. Cold batteries have sluggish performance and can risk damage with regen braking
    • The heat pump will move some of the cabin heat to the battery

  • For fast charging specifically, use in built navigation or Android Auto to navigate to a fast charger in order to precondition. Apple Carplay doesn't precondition
    • Fast charging at cold temps damages the battery if you don't precondition. And at high temps for that matter
    • Turn off heated cabin air to ensure battery is warmed instead
    • You can even do this to drive like a maniac but will lose more range obviously

  • For long term battery lifespan and preservation of range:
    • Stay within 20 to 80%, and as close to 50% as much as possible
    • Dont fast charge past 80% or even to 80.
    • Don't fast charge too long: it's better to have multiple short sessions from lower to middling soc than it is to charge a lot of the battery through fast charging
    • Dont fast charge when it's cold or hot without preconditioning. Rule of thumb is if you are uncomfortable, the battery is uncomfortable and will have trouble
    • Fast charging from below 20% and cold is also dangerous to the battery
This must be balanced with our own time, and our lifespan

Drive at 45mph (the sweet spot for EPA economy testing), don't make jack rabbit starts and stops, always make sure you get 100% brake regeneration at every stop, drive like you have an egg between your foot and the accelerator pedal, keep your tires inflated to 39psi, keep interior temp around 71 degrees.... all the things you didn't spend all the big bucks to buy a GT to do.

Don't sweat the small stuff. After all you are getting 94% of the estimated range. On my ICE vehicles I've never ever gotten any where near 95% of the EPA estimated fuel economy.

I had a 2009 VW Jetta TDI. EPA estimate was something around 42 MPG.
I was getting 48 - 50. Once I drove it 15 miles beyond "empty" - a 700 mile trip between pumps.
Of course we now know the truth about that car ...

So the point is: the estimates are - wait for it - estimates

Ford didn't advertise that you would get 250 miles of range per charge. They said that under a standardized set of tests that the car underwent, the car got 250 miles of range. These tests are the same tests that every car, regardless of whether it is powered by gasoline, diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, or electricity, undergoes. The range or MPG numbers are a tool to compare various vehicles against each other to see which one is more economical to run. The range part of the EPA results is almost an afterthought, but it is published for all types of cars. The MPGe rating is what determines if one EV is more efficient than another one.

There is a disclaimer on the window sticker that essentially says "your mileage/range will vary." I know that I never get what the EPA gas mileage rating is for any ICE powered car that I drive, and the same is true for any electric car I have driven. I suspect that you never got the EPA MPG ratings for your ICE-powered vehicles.
