How to remove rear view mirror

I want to replace the rear view mirror with a better one. A single screw holds it to the windshield mount, as normal, but the mirror is blocked from sliding off the mount by the decorative plastic cover around it.

The plastic cover is probaby snapped into place. Does anyone have a diagram showing where the clip points are?

The cover with the perforated holes, just pull around the edges and it will pop off.

Note that torque number: It's in inches, not feet. It's a VERY small number (well, not as small as oz-inches, but small). ??
