When I took possession, it had worse swirl marks than my wife's VW SUV I have had for 3yrs that has been through an automated (brush) car wash about 30 times.
Infinite Blue here and swirl marks on mine as well - on the paint and on the black door trims. I only noticed after I completed my first (hand) wash. I also had nasty water spots that needed to be scrubbed and polished off.

The swirls don't really bother me but the water spots were terrible to see on a brand new car. Next wash I'm going to take a closer look as well because I've noticed some tiny areas of paint build up so I'll try to take a picture of that.

IB and the paint is on par, maybe a touch better, than my Etron that cost $30,000 more! I have them parked side my side and the IB is striking.

I think even a single brush car wash will damage this paint. Nothing but micro-fiber wipes and the occasional water wash for mine. It has a pinhead sized paint chip already and I am sad about it.?

We're considering ceramic coat this time around but are worried about water spots. Any experience or thoughts?
My Bra and ceramic coating installer stated one of the best paint jobs. They did my Etron, Audi paint was terrible. Stated Teslas paint jobs are terrible.

I meant, is the ceramic worth the headache of water spots? LOL. I wonder how the i4 will be.
You can follow up washes with a ceramic compatible QD like Carpro reload to take care of the water spots. Reload is a FANTASTIC QD btw.

This is the first time we've had a vehicle ceramic coated. We did both the raptor and the mach-e. I cannot be happier with it. Far easier to clean and it always looks good. I use a detail spray or ceramic detail spray between washes to keep the top coat up and keep it shiny. It rains a lot here, the water does bead up and roll off easily though and as of yet, haven't seen evidence of water spots. I also don't put it up wet though.

It was worth the money. Hawaii is ultra-high UV and paint fades frighteningly fast here.

Infinite Silver.

Beautiful color and paint job, but it's not as durable as other paint jobs. Never have gotten 4-5 paint chips within 6 months (and under 2k miles) but if you plan on keeping this a while - the PPF is a good call.

I used a double coat of CQuartz UK 3.0 24 hours apart, then two layers of Reload 24 hours apart to keep it smooth and beading. Being a detailer I have every single line of products from Meguiars to TW Hybrid Solutions to TW Graphene Flex. An entire sheds worth. The only product that even comes close to the durability of CQ UK 3.0 (true ceramic) is Jescar Power Lock Plus. In addition Power Lock Plus gives it a bit of shine and depth - rare for a sealant.

I've gone pure ceramic on the MME. Since CQ UK 3.0 + Reload doesn't give it too much of a shine or depth, merely protection, I use this once or twice a week to keep it looking brand new.

"Malco Showroom Shine Spray Car Wax"

It's the crap that car dealers use right before delivery to make it look brand new, hide minor swirls, but longevity is crap. It works on everything from glass to metal and the metallic has never had more depth. It's watery, so get a gallon and keep a spray bottle on you.

I quick detail my car when I get to work in around 4-5 minutes. Only takes 4 microfibers (fold into fourths, use a clean edge every time) with moderate pressure. One for the hood, one for each side of the car, and one for the trunk.

Between the ceramic base coats, and the Malco stuff dealers use to make cars look amazing, I've found a winning combo. Wouldn't call the Malco stuff wax, I would call it a quick detailer with some crazy reflective stuff, because Infinite Silver really pops with it. Would definitely not use the pink stuff as a wax, only on top of the ceramic for looks.

Gorgeous and great detailed explanation! Love UK 3.0 + reload. One of the best non-pro options out there. Great choice!

The paint on my Grabber Blue was excellent from the factory. When my detail guy worked on it for PPF and ceramic he was impressed with the paint quality.
I was told the same by my detail guy when I had PPF and Ceramic Coating.

When I was at the detail shop he took me in the back to show the process. He was working on a Tesla which had small pieces of blue painters tape in various locations on the Tesla. He said the tape represented imperfections which needed corrected prior to PPF. He had found 44 imperfections on the Red Model 3. He found none on my Grabber Blue.

Turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic spray , $15 and their hybrid car wash concentrate $15, zero water spots and I have well water. The car dries itself too And gloss is amazing, 3 months later.

So, the MME is home and I'm firmly impressed! I took pictures of the hood and then along the fender line to show you can't see any difference between the PPF and original paint. The line on the side of the fender, that goes around to the front is covered as well. Had him tint my front windows to match the rears as well. His feeling was the same as mine, this is the best paint work Ford has ever put out! I love my ride ?.

For those that have been lucky enough to get your MME, how's the paint job? I ordered a shadow Black and when it arrived, went over it closely. I have to give props to @Ford Motor Company this is one of the best paint jobs I've ever seen! I'm a detailer as a hobby and have corrected lots of flaws in paint work. This car is stellar. So, how was your paint when the vehicle arrived, and are you happy with it?
My paint has defects but only on the fiberglass bumpers. I have tried detailing and the guy can't figure out what's wrong. I will be taking it to the dealership to see if they can offer a paint correction. I am so bummed about it that I am thinking about wrapping it.
