I may be doing my self more harm than good but, Im selling my car to Vroom and making a little money off of it. I ordered a Premium Space white Standard Range back in July and got it in November and I am now selling it to get a 22 model. It only has 65 miles on it. It has stayed in the garage most of the time. So I'm hoping to have my Premium Extended range Space white before summer is over. I know the estimated wait time is 28+ weeks now.
Did you already sell it? That's what I have on order but would love to not wait.

You got a great car.
I have had my premium ER AWD for 10 months now and I have been loving it. Welcome to the club.

I would do the same thing if I found the perfect config (or close to it). Sadly there’s nothing even close where I live.

Enjoy your new ride.

The more people that pay ADM, the more dealers will charge it. Don't be a part of the problem.

I ordered a Premium ER AWD on 04/30/21. It was scheduled for production on 11/22, then pushed back several times and supposedly "built" on 12/10. But like so many others, it stayed in that mysterious "built" state for weeks and weeks, with the delivery date repeatedly pushed back, finally to 2/4.

In early January I was poking around a local dealer site and found the same exact car on the lot...with $5,000 ADM of course. Well, I received a nice little end of year bonus that I guess was burning a hole in my pocket, so after much debate with myself I went ahead and purchased it. At that time, having a car now vs. having a car someday was worth the extra expense to me.

Sometimes I think about the 5 grand I "wasted" and hate myself for it, but you know what? As soon as I get in the car I forget all about that! I'm absolutely loving it. And the dealer has refunded my deposit, so at least there's that.

I just checked the tracker for my original order this morning. Delivery has been pushed back to 4/12 -- almost one year after I ordered!! Kudos to those of you who are able to hold out. I just couldn't anymore. I can pretty confidently say you'll love the car whenever it arrives.
Don't hate yourself, you did what you had to do in order to drive a Mach E after waiting almost a year (and it looks like Ford doesn't really know when it will be produced). I did the same thing but didn't pay as much in ADM. At the time I was like you in that I felt I might have "wasted" the money and felt somewhat guilty about it. Now as I look back at the situation with new cars and the microchip shortage the dealers have the upper hand as there is little supply and huge demand. They can (and do) demand and get the extra profit. It gripes me as I never paid over MSRP for a car in my life but we are in a different ballgame now. Enjoy your new car and don't listen to others who might criticize you for purchasing it.

One of the first cars I purchased had an original MSRP of $4,040. It was a 1973 Dodge Charger that I purchased in 1980 for $2,000.

If someone would have told me back in 1973 that people would be paying $5,000 over MSRP (Dealership now profiting $8,000 + on the deal), I would never have believed it.

My oh my, how things have changed......................

You most likely are a nice guy and honestly F me and my opinion. You got the car you wanted and could afford, nothing wrong with that ...

That being said, this is the problem and this is why dealerships are acting scummy. Because they know someone out there is willing to pay for it and cut the line to get what they want. It's simple economics and always will happen - but yeah, this is the unthinkable.

Death to ADM !!!

Now go take your hot rod of a car out for a joy ride you son of gun lol

Happy for you! You cant take the $$ with you when you die. Sell the new one when it comes in and have two tax credits. You end up ahead.

Interesting, I was looking at the NADA book values on Mach E's they are significantly higher than Sticker price. This is book value on a 21 Premium ER AWD with 10K miles. WOW! No way anyone is upside down......

Don't forget though, we're also selling our USED cars for basically sticker! After the tax credit, it turns out I was *paid* to own my Mach E 4X lol

The whole market is wonky right now.

There is no use or gain in beating yourself up. You bought the car you wanted at the time you chose for the price you are willing to pay. Enjoy the car, evaluate whether to take the one you ordered when it arrives and just stop looking back. It will only reduce your satisfaction with where you are now. You made the right choice. Happy for you.

Found mine at a dealer 2 miles from my house . . . driving beats waiting all day long!

You do you it's your money and I'm glad it workes out! I drive 15k+ miles a year. Gas is regularly $5 here so I'd save 3-4k a year.

If I got my car a year earlier could make up most of that cost.
