YES! This is exactly what it is supposed to do. In the one they are looking to sell me, there is no way to put the speedometer back into the centre, even with pushing that button. It should be simple! So, I am wondering if it is a glitch that can be fixed :)
My car is reasonably up-to-date (I have 6.1.0, and some kind soul could probably tell me if any of my modules are terribly out of date), so I don’t know what the deal is with the car you are looking at. Try another mustang mach e?

Yes, I may have to do that :)

For everyone with an existing car saying that your car has always had the speedo on the right, please stop saying that. It just means that you’ve always had at least one driver assistance feature enabled. It sounds like the OP is wondering if this has changed for the 2023.5 models, and people repeatedly asserting that their older models have always been like that is just confusing the question.

I guess we really need to hear from some new 2023.5 owners to see if their cars match what you saw at the dealer. Personally, I donā€˜t care if the speedo is in the middle or to the right, but I always want it in the same place. That’s why I leave lane keep enabled all the time.

Note that, in my example, the ONLY setting I changed was lane-centering. I left all other settings alone.

This is engage mode. When you go to unbridle, you get the orange, but the speedometer is on the side and the orange lines are around the edges. Don't like it at all! That's why I am wondering if it is a glitch. If it is the new way, it is not an improvement!

I
My 2023 GT dash behaves the same. I think this is how it is now

So a 2021 model does that but non of the 2023 premium or GT I test drove did that including my purchased one. That is most likely how the SW now works. I wouldn’t call this a glitch just because a car 2 years older behaves differently. Cars do change each year. IMHO I would bet it is a new ā€œfeatureā€ of the latest SW. Albeit maybe not the best to align with users.

Very interesting! So there is no way to toggle between the two (moving the speed to the middle) in the GT?
Not that I could find. But I would prefer it to be in the middle unless I’m using all the fancy automatic features like BC.

Gotcha! But I have driven several 2023's and in all of them you can toggle between the two views :) Every other 2023 on the lot toggles between the two... but this is the newest one on the lot and has the colour/package I wanted.... it also happens to be the only one on the lot with this "difference". So I am interested and reassured to know that your GT can't change this view :)

Based on @generaltso response it is possible I missed turning off an assistant setting. When I’m home from my current trip I can check again. But I have a tendency to trust the ā€œolderā€ forum members.

Probably the brake assist thingy, it's a pity you can't have a choice of dash layouts, i.e. speed in middle, assists to the side kind of thing.

Could it be something unique to Canada (eh :) )?
