Instrument panel staying illuminated

While sitting and waiting at the airport for my wife, car was off and instrument panel stayed lightly illuminated. Came home, shut car off, came back 20 minutes later, still lightly illuminated. Have recently received a few updates. Something not right. Will plug it in, and check in the morning. Always something new!

Mine has done this a few times during updates. I just always assumed the car needed to power on part of the system to make the update go through. It looks almost dark purple when it turns on, like its only the back lighting.

I thought it was like the refrigerator light, and was coming on when it sensed my Bluetooth? The lights often come on for me while it’s parked in the garage and I’m walking around outside. I guess I haven’t tried sneaking up on my MME without my phone or key to see what the dash does.

Have a fix, but might be just temporary. Pulled the plastic panel, disconnected negative battery terminal. Problem solved until another software update. Currently running 3.5.3.3. Ford needs to get these software updates that don’t screw up more than the fix. Or are these updates not going to completion.
