Honestly, if this fixes the fact that asking the voice assistant to navigate me to the nearest charger starts navigating me to a charger 4 states away, then i’m all for it.
I vote this up. ⬆

If AI is “Voice recognition and natural language commands,” I’m much more excited about it than if it is mad libs with statistics. Yes, let me yell at Ford to delete the current charging stop and get me one near a restaurant, that’s useful. It’s also Google.

TLDR.

Listen, any chance of making sure your Ford dealership technicians are trained in your technology so that I don't have to search the Mach e Forum and give my service advisor the TSB numbers?

Thanks...
I actually printed one out once and left it on the seat when I brought the car in. They got the message

I have yet to experience any excitement, nor have I ever seen anything surpassing a “meh” response from others when any company has announced AI enhancements to their product. Everything I have seen seems to indicate this is not a selling point, yet marketing teams continue push it.

I am a total tech nerd, I am a programmer by trade, but AI does little to excite me.
Realistically, is anyone going to be excited to use a self-help app about their car regardless of it being backed by AI or not? I'd venture to guess no. Sure there will absolutely be some people who memorize the manual, but most people don't even look at it after all. Same thing here.

I also completely agree with your viewpoint of AI not being a selling point and honestly, its a detractor for me but at the very least they haven't forced AI upon us inside the car, of which I am quite happy for. Perhaps a self-help app to ask questions isn't all that bad of a use case, assuming people even try to use it. I probably won't.

Well, I confess I do look forward to seeing if I can jailbreak it and turn into a sexy "Waifu" AI companion to talk dirty to me during my commute...

@Ford Motor Company Brian, are you able to shed any light on this. Is there a technical reason features that work in the US, like PaaK or adjusting climate via the app, are not enabled in some markets? As far as I know Tesla's have it here in NZ so I don't believe it is a legislative reason.
Okay so here's what I found: PaaK is currently not available for Mach-E in NZ, and we do not have any immediate plans to include NZ at this time. BUT, I have shared the desire from owners with the team.

Regarding climate etc. in theory you should have this available, unless your vehicles don't have an active modem in them. There are slight variations for the dozens of countries Mach-E is in, so I'm trying to understand a definitive answer for you from local teams.

Thanks for passing on my request. I was aware that PaaK isn't here, I'd be interested in knowing why. Like did someone just miss us off the list of allowed countries, or does it take extra work. I assumed the hardware in the car is the same and the phones are the same so there's no more than a software setting to turn it on.

In the Ford app I see one wide Climate button, and under it are Lock and Unlock. So in theory I can turn it on but I'm sure I have seen other people's screenshots of features like setting temperature values and more. Did I see a Start/On button too?

AFTER you get Climate running, you will have access to the settings, not before. No, there is no Start/On button, Climate turns on the only thing there is.

Ah, I'd probably have noticed that if I ever managed to get it to turn on remotely. It just spins and spins and never completes

Please let the powers that be know that navigating to a DCFC and pre-conditioning the battery (if necessary) on the way should be a feature built in to every EV.
When I bought my used Mustang, the Public Charging app in the car still worked. I would be driving down the highway, open the app and it would display a list of nearby chargers. I could select one and then send it to the in car Nav and off we would go. Nothing could have been easier. I was amazed and pleased. Then it stopped working and implied that I needed to pay for connected navigation to get that feature back again. Why? Why break something that was working. Just to get a few more bucks from a customer?
I can use the Ford Pass app on my phone to locate a charging station and then sent it to one of the Nav apps on my phone (Apple) but then the car will not initiate preconditioning. Why not have an option to send it to the in car Nav so that the car will know that we are going to a charger and begin preconditioning as necessary?
I firmly believe that making on the road charging easy for the driver should be a primary goal in order to improve customer satisfaction.
Thanks for listening.
Tim

Being able to send a route or destination from one’s phone to the car’s bully-in navigation seems so obvious I’m amazed more of us aren’t furious that this was removed.

Honestly, can we just have a permanent trunk open icon (maybe a sliding icon) or better yet remap the max fan button (or parking button) to a rear trunk open button like it’s an Apple Action button? That’s the smartest feature I’d like to add. Don’t need “AI” I need “Real I”.

I'd like to be able to say, "OK Ford, what just dinged?" And have it tell me I have a text message or BlueCruise turned off, right rear tire exploded, that is, something informative.
