ios 27 supports CarPlay video apps

The title says it all. The first catches that the car has to be parked. The second catch is that the car maker has to allow it. Does anyone think there’s a snowballs chance in hell that Ford will enable this? After all they still haven’t enabled AirPlay from iOS 26… I think this will get a lot more attention though. Currently it has the Apple TV app… i’m sure other apps will be supported once the public version comes out in September.

also, I don’t know how long it’s been there but I noticed that there’s a Ford app in CarPlay now but it just says coming soon inside… what is it

Maybe. Ford seems to be in more of a maintenance mode with the Mach E at this point. They’re not in the habit of introducing new features, only fixing broken ones.

I doubt Ford is going to enable this in existing vehicles. They don't want the support hassle of users complaining that these streaming apps are stuttering or audio drops out when they have no control over the user's bandwidth/connectivity. The average user will look at the Netflix/YouTube/Hulu performance and blame Ford - "It works fine on my phone at home!'

Some people have the Ford App active and have shown screen shots. It’s just the Ford pass app, right now it only shows tire pressure screen from the app. Don’t get your hopes up.
