My Ford charger that came with the car is clicking for 3-4 seconds as soon as I plug in and then I see this (image attached). I have a NEMA 14-50 outlet. I tried swapping the plug on the charger to the 110V one and connecting it to a normal outlet and still the same issue.

On the car, it is flashing red on the charging lock icon. Hoping it is just the charger and not the car!

My warranty expired just a month back as well lol. Perfect timing.

Mine broke as well, but 2 months ahead of my warranty expiration. I believe at one time these were retailing for $500, you would expect something like this to last more than 3 years.

I’m on my second one and it’s still working, but it’s used very seldom. They are known for having issues. Try public charging, can then rule out if it’s the car. Also would highly recommend replacing it with something else, if it is the charger.

Mine did that after about 3 months, luckily it was covered and I received a replacement at the dealership. I thought it was crazy that it only lasted that long, but the advantage I had was that I also own a F150 Lightning, so I just swapped to that charger and took my MachE one in.
Curious thing was that the parts counter person said that it happened alot this last year. So it sounds like it is a known subpar item. I still use mine, now it's been a year since I swapped them out, but I am bracing for the day I am somewhere on the road and find out it's toast.

With the charger not yet plugged into the car, it must have a blue light. Otherwise, it has a problem.

Doesn’t show anything on the charger while unplugged. When plugged, it flashes amber

That is the car. What lights are displayed on the charger when plugged into the wall, but not the car?

The Amber flashing lights are when it was plugged in and it is trying to charge.

Just tried charging at a nearby Chargepoint and it worked. The Ford charger makes 3-4 clicking sound as soon as I connect it to the car. I'll check the lights in a bit since I'm out now but def seems like a charger issue.

I even tried a standard 110 outlet and with the charger and get the same behavior.

For now, I've ordered a temporary charger off Amazon. I also have a Ford appointment at my dealer on Tuesday at 9am so hoping they still replace it even though the warranty just ended (wishful thinking I know). Any recommendations for a long term charger?

On a separate note, first time trying a chargepoint and they put a 75$ hold for a 0.01 cent session lol. It has been a weird day for sure lol.

Chargepoint video. Making sure there isn’t anything else I should be worried about with the car?

Probably nothing more to worry about. I took the Ford mobile charger to a dealer who analyzed it, determined it was not working correctly, then provided me a new charger. That is when the charger was still under warranty. That charger had been charging quite slow all summer and displaying the amber light. Consequently, about 2 months ago I bought a

Lectron Portable Level 2 J1772 EV Charger | 240V | 40 Amp | NEMA 14-50 | 16 ft Cord | Standard not wifi connected. I recommend taking your mobile charger to a Ford dealer who can analyze.

I recently purchased a 2022 Mach E from a non Ford dealer. They said the charger which came with the car was broken. When plugged into either 220v or 110v, the charger showed a fault. I took it home anyway, called my Ford dealer and made an appointment. At home the charger showed a fault on both, 110v and 220v.

My dealer told me that sometimes the car will fault if the wiring of the source voltages are not proper. Using the 2025 Ford Mach E app, they connected the car, set the amperage to 40 amp maximum charge rate and charged my car using the charger. It immediately began working properly!

I took it home and it works properly at home now. All I can say is, my 2022 Ford App does not allow me the same screen as the 2025 app. I can't set the amperage but the same app used on 2025 Mach E's can.

Good reminder-

Check to see where the issue lies- charger, car or wiring.

Try the car on a different charger, and the charger on a different outlet.
