Been lurking on the build week threads for May, and there is considerable confusion about the current status of the Cuautitlan plant. Was it shut down last month or last weekend? For how long? If so, is it now behind schedule?

Lots of speculation, lots of opinions, but few facts. If there is anyone on the forums who actually knows what the current status is, please post here. Thanks mucho.

Nothing official from Ford to directly make it a fact. However, I’m a 4/25 build week and still have no production date on Ford tracking, also seeing the batch before mine got about halfway through their builds by Thursday.

Give the plant a ring on the phone and ask what's up, report back.

Reading the build week threads leading up to yours is about the best you are going to be able to do in terms of understanding where production is at. There doesn't appear to be a 5/9 build week anymore (many/everyone? got bumped) , so I imagine Ford is planning to get to the 5/2 build week this coming week and then be ready for the 5/16 build week "on time" but that's best case scenario speculation.

Isn’t this when they’re switching over to Job 2 cars? Maybe something happened when they were prepping to switch that’s caused delays. Personally, I think those that got pushed a few weeks from April into hopefully mid May are better off now that they’ll have a Job 2 car vs a Job 1 so they get whatever slight improvements they’ve made on the line.

You’re not going to get an official statement from Ford as to how far behind the plant is. The only time we’ll hear anything from them is if they idle the plant for some reason. The various ford employees on this forum are unlikely to know anything about this issue, and if they did, they probably couldn’t say anything anyway.

Don't expect an official Ford reply, which would be heavily laundered through their lawyers as to make it useless. Nor from Ford employees, because of fear of reprisal, but what is surprising to me is that in the hundreds on this forum there is not one who has some third -hand connection to some actual facts.
