I bought a “new” 2024 Mach-E GT 2 months ago. It had 400 miles on it but, as I found out, it came with some issues. After driving it on the freeway, I started getting dash alerts, like “Front camera not working“ and “Pre-collision assist not available”. In addition to that, Blue Cruise is intermittent and the wheels “stutter” badly when turning at low speeds. I.brought in to my local Ford dealer for service. They said they needed to order parts (new modules). Consequently, they had it for over a week, but after paying $211, I drove it home and i soon discovered they didn’t fix anything. What’s the answer here?

Howdy :),
I own a 2023 GT PE and just hit the 3rd year of ownership in Dec. I have had my fair share of software glitches including issues with cameras and pre-collision assist. Most of those were momentary, meaning they flashed and went away. If the alerts persist and (importantly) show up in Ford Pass, it may be a more serious problem. For the shuddering, the tires on the GT tend to be summer rated, and if you are driving on slippery surfaces, that could case them to slip and drift a little, resulting in the shudder you describe. In some cases you may want to turn off traction control (as long as you are going to go slow :)) to have better control at low speeds. I also second what Larry said, try a different dealership. Plus, if it is a new vehicle (2024 with under 36K miles), why did they charge for their non-service. That should have been covered under warranty?

Cut your losses and buy a better car. I’ve had my MME for less than two months and I’m already looking at replacing it because I’m not willing to deal with the terrible quality

You can look up any forums and find people who have serious issues with cars. Hopefully a good dealer will get the issues taken care of for the poster. I have a '22 GTPE. We have had the car over 3 years now--about 20k miles--not a single issue. It is one of the best cars we have ever owned. I have a neighbor who also has a '22 GT--same experience for him--not a single issue.

Hmmmm, a car between 1 & 2 years old with only 400 miles would’ve been a worry to me raising the obvious question why such a low mileage?

Usually the truth either is because the car has sat around idle due to owner’s requirement or more likely because it was incapable of more use than that.

Anyhow, the actual issues should be fixable under warranty, surely🤷🏼‍♂️

It can’t possibly beyond the wit of a good dealer to do this.

Your wheel stutter is a consequence of something which affects most cars but manifests itself on cars the tyres on the steered axles of which do not slip gradually but jump to correct the unavoidable situation which is that wheels on full steered lock don’t roll parallel so scribe paths that are not concentric with the other around a curve.

Really hope you get the other issue resolved and I wish you luck with that.

Same here. I love my Mach-E, the favorite car I’ve ever owned.

Press and hold the volume down button and the 'next' button together until SYNC reboots. That fixed an early ghost Pre Collision Assist off that never returned

Well, it may turn off if snow is sheeting down at an angle into the front of the car ;) but an error out of nowhere, never happened again

The wheel wobble sounds pretty serious. But, is it the control system, or the wheels themselves. Perhaps there really is an ADAS issue

The first issue could just be from a dirty windshield and/or camera. Or is just happens randomly sometimes. Not necessarily something broken.

The 2nd is completely normal, especially in the winter. It’s the tires. Google the “Ackerman effect.”

Bottom line? Your car is probably just fine. Clean the windshield and see if the issue comes back.

Usually that message/issue goes away next time you start the car.

Hi Steve,

Send me a DM with the VIN, name of the dealership, and your contact details so I can get this escalated to some folks to take a look.
