So many issues with Mach-E? A bit disappointed!

This. There's a network diagram floating around somewhere I'll try to find and paste, but basically there are certain in-vehicle network types that can only move data so fast.
Think of it like this: You have the fastest computer with the fastest network interface in the world. Your house has the fastest internet connection in the world. If the router in between can only handle 128kbps, you're going to think the internet is the slowest buggiest crap on Earth.

When you start the car and immediately drive off, the system clearly shows how slow it is to settle down. Reminds me of Windows Vista. I guaranty that there is a systrem that would get rid of 90% of the lag. I have seen this so many times. Yes, some of it is optimized software as in Apple's IOS, but whatever it is, it needs work.

As long as you do not write bloatware to run on the hardware all should be good. DOS 3.3 use to boot pretty fast on a floppy with minimum ram. As long as you were quick shoving in the second floppy.

I think Ford realizes the Mach-E isn't the same as building ICE's cars they currently make. All you need to do is look to this forum to see the problems piling up. So many reviews talk about Ford's 100 year legacy in building automobiles and how it's Fords benefit. Yet this 100-year history will come back to bite them. Their dealership model is a disaster, as is the sales model. I can't imagine when a customer comes in with a Mach-E for service, and the mechanics have no idea about the technology because it's so new.

Ask VW about software problems and their delays with their electric cars.

With 3,000+ deliveries in February, and deliveries seemingly on hold. I really hope Ford can get this straightened out for their customers sake and the sake of EVs. After all, the more EVs on the road is better for everyone.

Another Tesla owner chipping in. We had Tesla owner(2020) school us on "inadequate" front brake caliper size for the Mach E and how poorly it perform. Wouldn't you know, the Mach E has a shorter braking distance ( 60-0 braking (4 runs): 110, 109, 111, 114 feet ---- (1) Track test performance figures for Mach-E Premium AWD EX (by Motor Trend) | Ford Mustang Mach-E Forum - MachEforum.com ) than the established Model 3 when it arrived and tested by Consumer Report.

I have asked this question to my dealer and to Ford. But maybe someone on the Forum knows.
This is a software question for those on the bleeding edge.
I expect over time the software to get better and meet more of the needs expressed on this forum.
But for how long will current owners get the software update for no charge? Does Ford consider software to be covered under the 8 year warranty or the 3 year warranty?

What if after 5 years your hardware doesn't have the memory, disk or bandwith(or whatever ) to handle the last software design? Wouldnt that make these cars obsolete in a few years (like a laptop or iphone)?
Or is there an upgrade path to the hardware to accept the software?
Or is there a upgrade path for just the software alone?

Prior to retirement I sold software for a living!

Think that is the case with a lot of software it will get better and yours does not. There are many that still run windows XP. I have a top of the line 2007 flat screen still working. I do not think this car will become obsolete for running into town for us for some time. As long as the software runs the vehicle what do you need? Fix a few bugs in the software and you are done. It is a car and software is not the reason for its existence for us. Better question is how will the software be changed to make you want to upgrade; the speed of a gpu for a car? That's more like a gaming machine. Software works for us and if it does what I need it to do there is no reason to upgrade. GPU's on the other hand hmm.

The driver display noise issue appears to be prevalent on 100% of Mach-Es. Every single video people have posted of their driver display has that screeching buzz. It seems some people are not bothered by it or maybe are not able to hear that frequency, but it does seem like every Mach-E is doing it.

Would love to see a video of a driver display not emitting that noise, but I don't think anyone has been able to post such a thing yet.

They are at least facing the prospect of some bad press and maybe loosing a few sales over this, whereas a few carefully placed words from them could go a long way. So far not much for them to get concerned over, but that can change quickly. I don't think that is that too much to expect at the very front of a new launch. Hope they don't follow Tesla's lack of info pattern. Anyway, all entitled to their own opinions on the matter. I really do hope I am over thinking this.

They would likely face far more bad press and lost sales if they did make a public statement at this point.

My display doesn’t make noise.

Would you mind posting a short video with your phone of your display? I would love to be able to show my dealer and Ford in order to try and get mine looked into under warranty as something wrong with my display.

I’m sure others with this issue would appreciate it as well.

With such a small numbers of delivery so far, there's already so many issues, seems the percentage is way too high?!
12v battery dead;
noise from the screen;
reduced speed on the road ( drive unit fail?)
PAAK not working properly;
charging speed on EA;

This really make me hesitate should I go with MME or should I wait, even after all the delay, Ford still have lots of HW and SW problems to be solved.

It also depends on your desire and availability.
Not every machine seems to come with problems, I know what you mean though I don’t want to feel I’m over committed just because how long I’ve waited and how much I’ve talked it up.
However, what competition is there if now is when you want an EV.
Is there machines performing any better? Tax credit?
If you already have a reservation on one and decided to pass on it would there be an opportunity to buy one?
I feel if you already had a reservation on one and been waiting, it’s worth the risk for me. Either way you complain enough they take it back ? or you put it on the market and you probably won’t lose anything other then time, for now.
If it is the only vehicle in the household, I guess that would tip the scales to risk over benefit for me.
I’m excited and nervous to buy one at the same time I guess is where I stand. ?
