Went to meet family for late afternoon dinner about 24 miles from home. Started up and let idle for a few minutes saying goodbye and answering questions about the car. Got back in only to be greeted by the dreaded "service vehicle soon" message and the symbols. I backed out and since it was dusk and really not knowing what to do I pressed the ok button and the message went away and the only symbol that stayed was the wrench. Started driving with my concern growing and not wanting to make the wife nervous didn't say a word. No loss of power and driving perfectly normal the 24 miles from home trickled away until I pulled in the garage with a sigh of relief. I never shut down and restarted just nervously drove the car home. I have not gone in the garage and started it yet today so don't know if the wrench is still there.. Ford Pass of course says go to dealer. Car behaved perfectly normal the whole ride home. She is a late May early June build with now 1,000 miles since I got her July 17th. Premium, wrd, standard battery. Any comments or suggestions? This scenario occur to anyone else? Before heading out earlier in the day I used one of those plug in battery checkers and had green led and good numbers. Saw that on this forum and immediately ordered one, great idea by the way.

My only suggestion would be to try to start it up and see if the problem persists. That way at least you know if there’s an issue before you really need the car to work.

Did you use remote start? That happens to me consistently if I remote start and get in to drive off before it times out and shuts off. If I let it shut off first then get in and start, no issue. Never any other issues or problems noticed. It goes away after it’s been turned off a while or within the next trip or two. I eventually plan to take it in but haven’t taken that plunge yet.

You have a lot of company. That happens upon occasion to some folks. Power up the car and see what it says, if anything.

Those that have had this issue can tell you what, if anything , they did to resolve it short of going to the dealer.

Ok just mustered the courage to press the accessory button and wrench is gone. Everything else looks normal. Checked 12 volt battery and green led. I'll start it and take a short ride a little later. Starting to breath a little easier. No I did not use remote start when this happened.

Ok took her for a drive and all is normal! No warning lights, breathing is much better lol.
I would contact your service department and document that it happened anyway. They will be able to check the cars fault message queue, and see that it threw that fault message. This way if it happens again they will know that it’s not the first time.

This happened twice to me. I had the fan noise module updates done and haven't seen it since.

Please provide more info on this please, or post a link to the forum article if you can.
Thanks.

I got one too, the Innova 3721. I got readings of 12.7 v in accessory mode and 14.2 v in ready mode. I am assuming the LVB is being charged when the car is in ready mode.

During the first month I had it (Feb), there were several "notifications", pre collision, service vehicle and backup assist not available. Each time the notification went away after a restart, that was 12,000 miles ago and before the first OTA. I did get a backup assist message again last week though. Not sure what the problems were but perhaps an old fashion "reboot" or "restart" fixes most problems... kinda like it does with PC's.
