Key Fob Battery

Didn’t see this anywhere else, maybe my searching skills aren’t so good…

Anyway, my car said my key fob battery was low yesterday. This was a bit surprising since I’ve only had the car since June. All my other cars typically go 18-24 months on a key fob battery.

Not a huge deal to replace it, but what is the expected life of batteries on this fob? 5 months seems low.

sometimes on other cars I've gotten the battery low indicator once or twice before the battery went. I've rarely had to replace a fob battery but should last a couple years at any rate

About a month ago I got the low key fob battery message. Have not seen it since. I would not worry about it unless it keeps coming back.

With our CMax which we had for 7 years I only had to replace the Fob battery one time for each Fob.

When in doubt change the battery is my motto! After all they are cheap insurance. ?

About a month ago I got the low key fob battery message. Have not seen it since. I would not worry about it unless it keeps coming back.

This seems to be the case for me too. Haven’t seen the message again after I posted this thread. Guess it was a fluke.

In any case it was good motivation to see if I remembered my door code and backup start code.
