My 2022 Select had a scheduled build date of 10/10/22 and was delivered in early December 2022. Like several others, I did not check for the hardware and just enabled the feature with Forscan. I excitedly went to see if it worked and kicked and waved my foot under the back of the car with no luck. Disappointed, I decided to see if the hardware was installed. I threw a towel on the garage floor and grabbed some tools, stuck my head under the car and heard CLICK, WHRRRRRRRR. The tailgate opened, lol. Just needed to practice my kick I suppose. Works every time now. Can’t believe that the hardware was there and just disabled via software. Thank goodness for the helpful folks on this forum.

be careful what you ask for. I have the kick to open feature on my tailgate. It always opens while I’m washing the car. Once it opened while in my garage and I didn’t realize it. It hit the button to open the door. it gashed my tailgate. Most of the time when I wanted it to open because I have two arms full of groceries, it doesn’t work. Be happy, just hit the button manually.
I got tired of all the lights and locks doing their thing while I washed the car when the keys were on me so I put a cup hook in the garage and hang my keys on it while Im washing . Give it a try .Keys should be far enough away to not connect . Maybe a faraday cage or pouch while the keys are in the house to keep car from being within range will stop the inadvertent car shenanigans. Car shouldn't react if keys are not near car or able to connect.
Just a thought
