Rearview Mirror Schematic/How to Open for Radar Detector

Ok, I am moving my Uniden R7 radar detector to my new ME GT. It was installed in my Genesis GV70 and it is wiretapped into the electrical harness of the rearview mirror. I looked at the rearview mirror on the ME, but there is no snap on door that one can just pry open. How does one get into it? And I can test it with the voltmeter to find out which pins in the harness I need but is there a wiring schematic of the harness available?

Just grab the mirror surround and pull straight down.

WoW, TYVM. That is tremendous help.

So glad it's just a snap on cover. Now on to using my voltmeter to find out which pins I need to use!

If I get it installed, I will post a pic of the completed job.

I hope your detector doesn’t exceed your mirror circuit’s power budget. I tapped my fuse box in order to install my dash cam. ??

Well its the same detector I had in my Genesis GV70 and had no issues. Of course that as an ICE vehicle. If I get it installed, I will monitor it. I will be wiring it on the wires that turn on power up not a constant wire that is live.

So, how did the R7 install go? I’m looking to do the same thing and I’m wondering which wires you ended up tapping.
