Mine only repositions for big trucks. Cars and pickups it does not. How does it know the difference and why only trucks?

That’s just how it works, when it sees large vehicles in the camera.

I do get repositions if a car is particularly close to the lane marker, but the MME only "realizes" that when it's almost next to the offending car, rather than the pre-emptive scooting over when I'm coming up to a truck/large vehicle. I suspect it's using the ultrasonic sensors to figure out that the intruding car is too close as opposed to using the camera for trucks.

Seems one vote camera and one vote sensors.

That is one of my questions. If it was sensors seem it would see all cars but if it is the camera then there is processing going on to recognize size/shape which is how tesla solely works on. Maybe it is both.

I don’t know if or how much it relies on cameras, but it certainly uses radar. There is a radar sensor behind each front fender. I know this because my MME was missing one of the sensors after the Ford dealership did a shoddy repair before I bought mine. My MME did not have the lane change or lane repositioning features active until I paid $4,700 out of pocket to get the car fixed and replace the missing sensor (as well as the headlight assembly and headlight control module).

I think it must use camera as well since the sensor mostly shoot front back and sides, not 45 degree from the front bumpers. The lane repositions before I am beside the truck. Maybe I am wrong and the sensors do shoot at 45 degrees.
