Didn't Ford say they were going to give us all one?
I don't think Ford is giving anyone anything, they have a financial mess on their hands of their own making. If they develop one, I expect it will cost lots of money especially if they are going to put their name on it and be responsible for potential future problems with it.

Had road trip coming up and of course didn't know when free adapter would ever come, so ordered A2z for $200 , but it kept getting delayed, then a few days before my trip I went to Amazon and got the Lectron delivered overnight for $250 canceled A2z. Lectron adapter has worked great on 6 chargers so far, and love reliability and access to Tesla chargers.

Does anyone think this is worth getting now? I am planning on taking some trips this summer and being able to use the Tesla Superchargers would really help.
I bought one. I couldn't wait not that I needed it right away. The adapter works well but is a pain in the ass to separate from the Tesla cable. It's a known issue they even have a youtube video on how to disconnect it. I just received the update for plug and charge for Tesla chargers and haven't tried it out yet. The only way I have gotten the Tesla charger to work is through the Tesla app. I wouldn't go on a long road trip without a Tesla adapter. It definitely gives you some extra piece of mind.

I have a road trip coming up and decided to buy one today. Any idea why you have to use the tesla app? I see telsa super chargers listed in the ford pass app when I search.

Just as you suspected, you do not have to use Tesla app.

The main reason would be if plug and charge doesn't work. So you'd just want to make sure that's set up correctly ahead of time in your Ford account.

The other reason would be that if you plan to use them often enough, it may be worth paying the Tesla monthly "subscription" for reduced SC prices. In that case you'd also have to use the Tesla app.

tested it a few days ago, works great through the fordpass app. However the tesla cord is so short I had to park in the wrong parking spot and over the curb just for it to reach. Obviously tesla didn't plan for others when they decided on the cord length.
