2021 Job 1 First Edition ~84,000 mile. As the title suggests, my Liftgate won’t open.

The locking mechanism seems to cycle, whether using the button or the fob, and almost unlatches, but then stops and locks again.

For a while it was intermittent, and would still work with the fob, but now it seems pretty stuck. And I have verified every time there was nothing jammed in the latch or the doorway.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Your tailgate latch is faulty.

Renew it and you’ll be fine again.

Mine was like this for quite a while, I removed it, squirted dry lubricant in every hole but that did not improve things.

Renewing it cured it.

In fact I reckon it was never fully good.

Even the kick-to-open works every time so I think the catch was “lazy” for a long time before it got as bad as it did and you describe.

Mine's a 21 job 1 nearly 128,000 miles.

Thank you!
Not to be dense, but when you say “renew”, is that replace or just refurbish? I’d replace, do you happen to have the part # handy? And I’m guessing the mechanism is in the hatch, correct?

Yes, fit a new one. There maybe different part numbers for different vehicles but mine is on view of attached invoice, you should check with dealer for correct one for your vehicle I would recommend.
