A great event a huge thanks to Simon and John and everyone that helped out. I went with the 5K pony. I liked the brighter blue look. For anyone with doubts, I can attest that John (the originator, inventor, manufacturer, and all around GREAT GUY) is **THE REAL DEAL**.
We just had 10+ Mach-Es get their lighted ponies installed in San Diego, and John came out from Cincinnati to help teach, supervise, and otherwise help out installing them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/540872513614433
We enjoyed some great ribs, shared our buying stories, and gave each other a helping hand. SImon also had some other goodies to sell, and I certainly walked away with loads of ideas (definitely gonna wrap the front grille!).
Joh had a few of the 5k versions, and most of us went with the 4k version. It's smoother, matches the existing headlamps pretty well, and we all left very happy.
Please support John by buying directly from him or one of his partners like Simon. He's pretty much a one-man band, this is his side gig (like me, he works way more than 40 hours for a Fortune 500 company). He's got a passion for Mustangs, has a tinkerer's heart with an engineer's brain.
He's got some awesome ideas coming up - watch his site for updates

I’m in socal too, I’d take itNot to distract from this thread but I just received my pony today in the mail.... HOWEVER, I just sold my MME last week. So I have one up for grabs. I believe it is the 4k one (I don't know how to tell by just looking at it, but that is what I filled out on the request form).

I appreciate you posting these pictures. It shows me that I don't like this look - the individual LEDs are too visible. Of course my taste has nothing to do with your taste. Now I know I don't want the brighter look. Not sure I want the dimmer look if it also shows the LEDs like that though.A great event a huge thanks to Simon and John and everyone that helped out. Very nice! Your photo made me change my answer to be to wait for the 4000K version. Mine's also Iconic Silver.Final result wirh 4k in a slightly darker garage![]()
Damn. I would have definitely made the drive down from LA to get it installed had I known. Plus really any excuse to go home to SD.For anyone with doubts, I can attest that John (the originator, inventor, manufacturer, and all around GREAT GUY) is **THE REAL DEAL**.

We had one of the first installs done with the 5k version and yes it’s a better color match to the headlamps… but the hotspots/individual LEDs were too visible for me, so I opted for 4k.I appreciate you posting these pictures. I believe it's technically illegal to have white lights on the backend unless you are backing up....or that's what the cop told me when I had a broken taillight on an old car. But I've hear rumors that John is coming up with a rear pony light (presumably lights up in red). What are the thoughts of replacing the rear GT emblem with this to have two lighted ponies?
Here’s some better pics from his survey link.So... are the 4K led units in production, out in the wild; or was that a test sample?
Also, @supared can you post the comparison photo from the Kickstarter update to here at a higher resolution? The one that came through look of original Nintendo image quality![]()
