Multiple people said their LEDs are visible from up close, I find that mine are visible from any distance unless you are really far away. 50ft away I can still see individual LED's. TBH it kind of ruins the effect for me, I hope we at least get a discount to buy a proper one with the correct diffusion.

I asked for 4k w/ diffusion, i ended up with 6k no diffusion, not sure why i didnt get my choices when people who got theirs before me got their choices.

Knowing there is a much better option out there is kind of annoying considering now I need to buy this twice.

I am appreciative I actually got something considering this was kickstarter, and if I didnt know others were getting better versions I would probably be happy but that isnt the case.

The dots are far more obvious than in the picture:

It literally looks like one of those Lite-Brite boards... again, I think people should stay away especially as the creator has decided to no longer reply to anyone on here, when it seems a good amount of people on this forum were the reason it even hit its goal.

The Kickstarter page still gets tons of updates. And the creater has gone out of his way to help people install their ponies. In my opinion, he doesn't need to respond on this forum anymore if he doesn't want to.. he hasn't ghosted the backers and you can find updates if you look for them.

And yes, maybe the first one weren't perfect.. but don't forget this is a Kickstarter project. Projects improve and get better with feedback. As backers we basically agreed to be beta testers and help it develop into a fully sellable product. I never expected it to be perfect right out of the gate, but I believed in the project and wanted to get one as soon as possible, which is why I backed it at the Pole Position.

But, as the previous person mentioned, didn't the creator send a survey asking what people wanted and then he's now clearly not listening to the survey? Or did he post an update on KickStarter explaining why and the previous poster is just omitting that update?

I have yet to get a good photo but I now have my lighted Pony installed.

Thanks to @Murse-In-Airy for all his help for the install. It was a fight.

I stopped by @Murse-In-Airy home on August 14th. We took out the frunk and he went to work on drilling/opening up holes for the wiring. Here he is working on Max (I got his best side here. )

Nice garage, eh?

So, he takes out the OEM Mustang logo out of the nose and replaces it with the Lighted Pony. Tightens it down after putting on the washers. Finishes the wiring and......it would not light up. He tried of few things including hooking it up directly to a battery he had. Nothing worked. Looks like I got a dud. Moral to the story here...TEST your Lighted Pony before you remove the OEM one. He secured the wiring and we buttoned it all back up.

I contacted John K. and he sent me a replacement which showed up about a week later. Between our jobs and life, @Murse-In-Airy was in my area and was able to stop by my house a couple of days ago to hook up the new one. Well, got the frunk out again and he found all the wiring and got to work hooking it all up but this time we tested the new Lighted Pony before installing it. Did not work the first time. He checked the wiring and decided to replace one of the connectors he was using. Then the new Pony Light worked!!! So, thinking maybe it was the connector all the time, he wired up the the first one still on the car...and no success. Tried the new one again and it wouldn't work.

Frustrated knowing one of the Pony's worked, he spliced and directly wired everything up and the new Pony again worked but the first one would not. I gave the okay to take off the one not working and replaced it with the new one. Result, I now have a working Pony Light on my 2021 Premium. Thank you again, Rod and John.

Not sure if being a Pole Sitter had anything to do with all these issues but glad they are resolved now. Pics to follow!

I was an early Kickstarter backer. I have followed this closely, and John has provided frequent updates throughout the process. When he posted his concern about light intensity (compared to headlights) and visible LED 'dots', he immediately began testing and offering options. John has been extremely willing to provide, and respond to, feedback from backers. He posted surveys for backers to select their preference for more diffusion, or different light intensity. When the original survey request 'glitched', John quickly posted a revised option. He warned that there might be a delay, if backers wanted something different than the original version. But, to my surprise, he still managed to ship my Pony, with the adjustments I preferred, on time. He has been extraordinarily responsive to questions and comments from backers. His tenacious attention to detail has been unwavering.

My husband and I installed our lighted pony, (diffused option, 4000k) this week, and it is perfect. Thanks to the videos, and step-by-step instructions John posted, the installation went smoothly and the lighted Pony is a triumph!!

Another poster seemed reluctant to install their Pony after having PPF installed. I had PPF, and stripes installed before my new lighted Pony. I did remove the original Pony before installing PPF, then replaced while waiting for my lighted Pony. I had no problem, whatsoever, removing the original Pony (again) to install my lighted Pony. It was a breeze.

Will do. I was planning to take some glamour shots this weekend to show my stripes, lighted Pony, and painted calipers.

I would love to sell my pole position pony (brighter bluer) and then maybe get the 4000k version when they’re available.

Labor day lights!!!

4k pony...not as bright as the DRLs and a little more yellow (slightly more yellow than the picture shows). No dots, but some areas are a little brighter than others. But overall it looks great. Very happy.

And here it is during the day in bright sun light, on vs off. Not a drastic difference, but noticable for those of you trying to decide which way to wire it.

That is a HUGE difference in the diffusion, kind of makes me more aggravated I didnt get my choice. Mine looks like a light bright at that distance.

@VN210 posted a link to knockoff front and rear lighted ponies here. Interesting that they copied the install notes directly from John's kickstarter info, even the parts that don't apply. Looks like these ones might be plug and play without splicing wires.

That was my impression when I looked at them live at our event - so I went with the 4k. I will upgrade to RGB when John's ready with that - not going to take it all apart again until there's something dramatically different. For now, I'm quite happy with mine, even though it's a little yellower.

John has been SUPER responsive to so many folks (me included), have you reached out directly to him?

Keep in mind he's a one-man band who also has a full time day job, so cut him a little slack. Having witnessed what he does and how he does it 1st hand, I'm really impressed with how thorough he's been. This is not easy stuff - getting plastics molded, polished, PCBs created... lots of suppliers, lots of testing/iterating.

I've got a first-round Kickstarter Pony (still in the box from John) if anyone might be interested in picking it up. Received a couple weeks ago - can only assume it is an initial 6000K unit, haven't even hooked it up... No sense installing it if my MME will likely be sold shortly anyways. Send me a DM if interested...
