wow i didnt think there were any working ones left.
It seems many forum posts (not just here, forums in general) over-represent unsatisfied people. I was an early adopter to the lighted pony Kickstarter, and had a great experience. The developer was super responsive to all my questions, and I had an overall positive experience. Love my lighted pony, and wouldn't be surprised if there area bunch of other perfectly happy Kickstarter lighted pony customers out there.

Another Mach E accessories Fb group based in Europe is also about to release a front and rear set, shipping to USA as well. Deposits (only $10) just closed for first round but he says they'll do another round in September. 5 year warranty. Caveat emptor.

Honestly, I am so confused right now. Doesn't the GT model have a lighted front pony already?

GT model has the lighted pony in the front. The GT emblem in back is NOT lighted.

In Europe, neither Pony is lit on the GT either (EU rules) Some of us have managed to replace the Front Grille and Pony to add the lit pony to our GTs. A third party lit GT badge for the rear is also available.

Non-GTs do not have an illuminated front pony. EU models of all trims do not have illuminated ponies. ??

Did you do anything special to keep it alive? I know I installed the diode he sent out.

I just got another one from someone on the forum and would like to keep it working for as llong as possible.

Mine still works as well. I am just careful with it. I've never been through a car wash and never pressure wash too close to it.

Based on my email convos with Ev Vida, it sounded like they were sourcing their product from the kickstarter creator.
Maybe that was a mistake or a misunderstanding. The concept is the same but the internal (including the mold) and the parts all have been redesigned completely. It even comes with a plug and play harness.

Jon sent the diode, but I had already installed everything, and it seemed more trouble than it was worth to switch things out to add the diode. So it's still sitting in my junk drawer. There is a thread in this forum where the diode pros and cons were discussed. Anyway, it's working fine after nearly two years.

So I just installed one I got from a member here and the old one definetly died from water intrusion. There is corrosion on the board and you can see it shorted multiple traces. as the other guy said, its not really sealed from water AT ALL. I was tempted to take it apart and try to seal it up better but i kind of damaged my old one disassembling it so I didnt want to risk it.

I hope the EV VIDA one is sealed a lot better.

As to why Ididnt wait? I have no idea, I guess because until the ev vida one can be purchased its just vaporware and this is the only working option out there.

Well, that’s bad news. Apparently the product wasn’t very good AND there was no licensing deal with Ford.
Sigh.
