That sucks. You were able to get in your car I assume?
I had to call a tow truck to bring me a jumper. I popped the hood and I was able to jump it. I then got these messages. When I got home I plugged it in and now all error messages are gone. Very frustrating. I’m assuming there’s still something wrong.

My phone app said it was plugged in and not charging. Coincidence?

Something interesting as my wife and I were just talking. she said after the time change when she would to go to work. The clock was always three hours off every morning in the car and she had to reset it.

He says as he goes out to double check the VIN…… ?
Several years ago when I was out of town my wife took the Prius we owned at the time to a grocery store with a small parking lot. When she went back to the car she was having trouble finding our car. These were the days when Prius was a popular as Tesla is today, so to find you car you looked at the license plate. She found the car but discovered that someone had stolen our rear license plate and swapped it with the plate off a stolen Toyota... (This we learned from the police who told her not the drive the car as she could pulled over at gunpoint!)

I’ve been nervous before about this and now extra nervous. The update came and now I got the same plugged in not charging message and an alert about my 12v battery when I was out driving around. And when I say driving around I went to another city and it was a 1.5 hour drive. I have a 2021 Job 1 - something must be draining the battery.

Did you get the Electrical System Drain alert?

Your battery isn’t necessarily draining.

But your battery is 2 years old. I have definitely had a 12v battery die in that time period before. It’s worth having it tested.

Autozone and other parts shops test batteries for free.

It was hinted at in previous posts, but just to be clear, the leads in the front bumper are only there to open the frunk in the event the 12 V battery is dead. It does not connect to the 12 V battery directly, so you cannot use those leads to "jump" the car. If your battery is dead, the procedure is to use those leads to pop the frunk (which will only work in the event the 12 V battery is dead) then connect to the 12 V battery to "jump" the car. Noting that the 12 V battery is hidden by the panels in the frunk so it requires some work to get access to.

I see you get the messages occasionally, but a bunch on the 11th (that day was maybe a glitch). Any more since the 11th?

Did you get the Electrical System Drain alert?

IMG_1156.jpeg
That only triggers when there is a large drain. Small drains like dashcams don’t always trigger it. So the presence or absence of that message is not a reliable indicator.

Huh? The clock is set by GPS. There’s never a reason to mess with it (unless you’re in some edge case.)
