I just spent 45 minutes talking to Ford customer service. It sounds like Ford is aware of the issue and their current recommendation is to take it to the Ford dealership where they should know what to do and only they can administer the "fix". If this "fix" was known prior to Wednesday, then I am guessing that word either didn't trickle down to the Ford service departments or my service department didn't use the right search parameters to find information about the correct fix.

I wouldn't expect any Ford customer service rep to openly admit that they're clueless. It sounds much better for them to reassure the customer and sound confident.

I've posted in other (related) threads about why I think Ford is actually clueless about this.

They get them, but that doesn't mean the right person reads them.

That’s good to know. Towed my 23 to the dealer. A day after I received the OTA battery update. 12volt was at 30%. Accessories worked. Car just not turning on. Try charging with same jumper back I used before and with a heavy duty jumper cable boosting from ICE 12v wont charge. Resetting sync. Remove the ground for 10 min and received no error messages. Just car is in excellent health. I do have an amp and dash cam. It was all disconnected before attempting to start/charge. Car been in dealer for a week. I’ll update the result.

Welp my turn for this bug and of course we are roadtripping and can’t get any of our stuff out. Should’ve known to leave a window open when ford pass status froze up yesterday in the middle of DCFC

Pretty much best case outcome for this issue. Ford roadside very quickly dispatched a tow truck that was also a locksmith. He was able to open the passenger door and then I disconnected the 12v. Glad I had a socket wrench in the car…

So did you leave it with the doors locked or unlocked? Did he use the little air bag to pry open the top of the door and used a long rod to reach in, hook, and pull the door handle? Just trying to get details on what works.

Just to chime in, my car is 2021 and the frunk actuator connector was defective. Did your frunk ever work?

I’m 90% sure the doors were locked last night. And yup that is exactly what he did

Oh crap. I am experiencing the exact same symptoms with my brand new 2024 Mustang Mach EX Premium (same beautiful blue color) that I have had less than 3 weeks. My car just got towed to the dealer last night. Sounds like I might be in for a nightmare if it is anything like this experience. I spent 4.5 hours waiting for and dealing with the tow. The tow truck driver was completely baffled.
Yikes. Ford you need to do better. I bet every Ford engineer who owns a Mach e, they probably don’t, manually and rarely updates their models if ever.

When this happened to me, they were unable to open the door with the air bag and hook trick...and it looked to me like the dealership had also tried that and failed.

You have to pull the handle twice to open, maybe they didn't try that? They tried the front doors right (not rear)? Otherwise that's interesting. If you wanna try the string trick and let me know if it doesn't open on yours that would appreciated.
