Wow It is getting to $12 much faster than I anticipated. I forsee $20+ if this year turns out to be good to Ford. Will be hard not to sell. Car companies will soon be valued as technology companies.
Peaked over $12 today already.

If they execute on the Bronco launch, meet expectations for quarterly earnings and show a working production ready electric F150 this year then $20 shouldn't be out of reach.

Sounds right... Put the word Apple or Google in the same article with a car manufacture and the stock goes up. In other news since Jan 11th Ford stock is up 24.31% - Weird.

Ford Apple Google Ford Google Google Apple Ford.

The bounce off $12 shows there is momentum to cross that threshold so I picked up a bit more at $11.50. I dislike buying on up days and feel like there will be a drop, but hey, if you feel good about the direction...now I hope F starts delivering the Mach Es!

Forget the impact of the Mach E on Ford stock. Did you catch what the Lightning announcement did?

yep, loved it. I thought the MM-e was a homerun. The new F-150 Lightn... appears to be a grand slam.

My Ford shares doubled since last year, plus they secured x-plan price. Will keep them for another 3 years, they will pay for a new car then.
I purchased when stock was in the $4.00 range. Should had bought more.

It's easy to say we should have bought more! I'm glad I put the money in it that I did. I think long term automakers will become much more profitable with technology integration and sales.

I'm actually skeptical about profitability long term. Auto industry was always very competitive with razor thin profits and heavily handicapped by trade unions. I'm bullish only as long as there is little competition in EV space. That will all likely to change in a 2-3 years, we'll see a glut of EVs and some manufacturers will go bust.

Long term I wonder about personal car sales for the whole automotive industry. EVs have much slimmer margins. Plus the combination of OTA and 300M+ mile batteries translates to longer lifespans and less frequent replacements.

Then there's the prospect of commercial robotaxi shuttlepod fleets. If/when those get perfected without the cost of a driver involved, personal car ownership could plummet.

This is all probably a decade+ away, but at that point, the survivors may be the ones focused more on commercial vehicles and fleet shuttlepods.

I prefer companies that don't pay dividends. First, it comes out of stock price anyway. Second, it's double taxed.
I think it depends on your investment strategy. There are other reasons to oppose dividends as well. I was making a bit of a joke. On the plus side, a dividend is a way to provide a return (reward) to the “owners of” (investors in) the company, based on its performance. Think about how a partnership works. Stock price is pretty meaningless until realized. It’s nice that my massive stock holdings have an on-paper value of $100, but that doesn’t mean anything because I could have invested in some crappy company that collapses tomorrow.
