I have been tracking a dealer ordered Mach E in the same exact spec as the one I ordered through my local dealership (GT non-PE, Vapor Blue Metallic). The one I ordered is scheduled to be built next month (6/8), but this one from the dealership is already built and, as of yesterday, shipped. The tracking page shows the estimated delivery to be between 6/19 - 7/2. I had a few questions regarding the shipping process.

  1. The dealership the car is heading to is in South Carolina and I know the cars are built in Mexico, but does that sound like an accurate delivery window?
  2. How accurate has Ford been with these estimates?
  3. Is there a working way to track the shipment? I tried the method posted on the F150 forum that was linked from this forum, where you "unhide" the search bar from the freight carrier's website, but that didn't seem to work. Has anyone found a method that works?
Thanks!

1. Yes
2. As accurate as anyone predicting the future. Basically it’s a good date as long as nothing goes wrong. Kinda like estimating the time your airline flight will take off 3 months from now.
3. You can see the info Ford shares and maybe see the train shipment, but that’s where the tracking ends.

Yeah I'm hoping it was a conservative estimate, sort of a worst case scenario. I'm awful at being patient. I honestly don't know how people are capable of waiting months or over a year for theirs to be delivered.

Two things:
  1. I commend you on the complexity of your password. It's FAR better than most.
  2. You should probably change it since it seems that you entered it in the location field.

Well, he is an IT admin so one would expect strong passwords...

You'd be surprised.
He's not wrong. I have seen some awful passwords, including "password", from supposed IT professionals.

It must have been my password manager filling that in to my location. Not sure why it would have done that.

It happens all the time with this forum for some reason. There must be something about the registration process that attracts passwords to the location field.

Nah, it’s more like a best case scenario.

Cars being late seems more often than early.

Mine was 2 weeks early. But only because the trucking company was fast (last step of the journey).

Unlikely to be built or shipped early.

Ford’s estimated delivery window was more or less accurate for my 2021 (after production was delayed twice and the estimated delivery window was moved due to those delays). My car arrived within the leading edge of that window. It actually should have been earlier, as it sat at the final rail yard for 5 days. ?‍♂?

I wonder how reliable the dates are once shipped (assuming no complications like train derailments or fires).

I'm waiting for delivery, and have been watching the build week threads from end of March and April. Once shipped, they seem to be fairly. Mine shipped 4/18, and website says est 5/22-5/28 in one place, and 5/19-6/1 in another - the dealer said they see 5/22-5/28 in one of their systems, and 5/25 in another. Currently, it's on a train with an estimated arrival (not sure where, but the railroad DOES come to my city) of 5/13. I assume it may take a few days to get from the train to the dealership, even if it does arrive in my city by rail.

Trains seem more predictable than the trucking companies.

At the end of the day, it’s all a “best guess” based on available information.
