Same Issue. I made no changes to the scheduled time and it did not charge last night. Thinking it may be worth buying a $600 after market charger and control charging time that way.

Charging is a mystery. You would think it is the one no-brainer for a BEV but doesn't seem to be that way.

Ford servers strike again!
So, this is my first time experiencing the car not charging. Sounds like it happens every now and again according people who have owned their mach e's for a while. I've had mine only a couple of weeks now. Plugged it in last night, lights confirmed it was plugged in, came out this morning and the cabin was warm because it activated my departure time appropriately, but had never charged.

You can see from my DTE energy app, no electricity usage in my 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. scheduled charge time.

It usually looks like this:

I had changed my OTA update schedule yesterday, but it's not like it did an update overnight that would have disrupted the charge.

Does it really have to do with Ford servers? Does a locally set charge schedule on a private charger really go through their network?

I thought the charge settings were in the car and don’t need a server unless you need to change via FP. If you go on. Road trip to locations with no connectivity we should still be able to charge right. Something else might be tripping the car? It’s odd that several folks have same issue same time.

I had a situation a few months ago where for an entire week the departure time schedule was not working. It was parked and connected at home.. almost like it went to sleep for a week. I took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong but of it’s it started working again.

I suspect the "my car didn't charge" issue is related to the vehicle not knowing it is at a saved location. It obviously knows it when first parked and plugged in because it waits for the schedule but then something happens prior to start of charging where it gets stuck in between the "Charge Now at unknown Location" and "Follow charge schedule at known location". It is almost like it falls asleep and then sleeps past the alarm and doesn't wake up.

Sometimes it figures it out in the middle of the night or early morning and then it is like "Oh crap! I am at a known location and I didn't start charging!" Then it might send a notice to my FordPass that it doesn't have enough time to charge before my departure time and it start charging right away.

Hi there! Can you send us a DM with more information? I’ll see how I can assist on my end. Thank you!

Had the car since August, this is the first time i encounter this issue. The car usually charges to 90% by 3am, whenever i plug it at night. Woke up to it charging in the morning .. no where close to the 90%. I am guessing at some point it didn't charge or stopped charging last night? I guess i going to have to start monitoring the app at night.

Hi,
We set our car in a scheduled charge at 10 pm. We plugged in and We got an alert last night that it was scheduled to be fully charged by 3am. Checked this morning and didn’t charge at all . Checked the app bc and it still shows we were on the schedule to charge between 10pm and 8 am on weekdays and weekends.

I know there have multiple posts where others have had the issue where they change to charge when plugged in for a single instance and then try to flip back to a schedule and save the change but it doesn’t take.
Any thoughts would be appreciated ?
Same problem

They say set it from your car as the solution. Or you just accept that your car might charge outside the regular time window (which costs me more $) or might occasionally charge to 100% which degrades your batterylong term if done too often.

I found this older thread and I guess I’m reviving it. Anyone else having trouble scheduling charging their ā€˜23? I arrived home last night, plugged in, then went in the house to check my charging schedule because I had messed with it because of some public charger issues I had the other day. It was set to charge upon plugging in instead of charge at pre-set times. So…I go into the house and stop charging. Then I re-set the charging time and preference. This took several tries, as it didn’t want to change up the plan. Finally it saved and took. I had set it to charge between 12 AM -6 AM.
Of course I woke up a couple of times in the night…checked the app and it is not charging.
What did I do wrong?!! The car did this the first time I ever set it to charge from the app, and I figured it was user error. Didn’t seem to have an issue again. Now it’s back. ?

EDIT: Right after typing this I went back and refreshed the app. Now it tells me it IS charging and that it will be done TOMOROW at like 2 AM. What the heck??!!

I experienced something like this today. This is giving me a little anxiety because I absolutely need the car to be charged to what I need. I have a suspicion but it's just a hunch.

I have the car set to charge at home starting 12:00 AM. So, any day it should figure out it's below the target 90% and start charging. For the past few nights it has worked. Tonight I checked at 12:10 AM and it was just sitting there off in deep sleep.

My wild theory: if you change the charge setting while the car is in deep sleep, it might ignore it schedule.

This is what I did today:
  • Unplugged the car from a full night's charge in the morning. No problem.
  • Did a day drive and when I got home in the evening it was about 66%.
  • In the Ford app I manually tapped the "Charge to 100%" button because I might have had to do a night drive. Then I tapped "Stop" in the Ford app to manually stop it. (It was coincidence I stopped it right at 90%, which is where I wanted it.)
  • I went out and did about 3 miles of driving, so the car went to 89%. I got home and plugged it in.
  • Sometime just before 10:30 PM I tapped "Resume Schedule". It was expecting to start charging about 12:00 AM and end about 12:16 AM. The Ford app said "Waiting to charge".
  • Around 12:10 AM I went out to the garage and saw the car was not charging. I opened the door and then closed it, and it turned on just fine. It finished charging about 12:35 AM.
