Not sure if this was covered by a different thread but I couldn't find a topic on the issue. I placed an order for Mach E Select w/ Comfort and Technology Package. I just got an order confirmation from the dealer and it showed that "Active Park Assist - Prep Kit" has been subtracted from the order. I always thought Comfort and Technology Package includes the "Active Park assist". Are they removing the feature due to a chip shortage?

Also, are there any differences in driving assistance feature between Select w/ Comfort and Technology package vs Premium? I thought it would be the same but you never know. Thanks.

There are no differences between driving assist functions with tech/comfort vs a premium. I have had both. If you do not need the big battery it’s a great way to go. No glass roof to chip and no shiny plastic to scratch either. Better ride on 18” tires and it’s quieter inside than the premium. You do not get “gimmicky“ ambient lighting, “projector headlights”, reflective windshield, perforated seats and upgraded Audio. None of those are essential if you want to pinch pennies. Enjoy the Select!

I had the same thing happen on my recent Mach E Select order with the comfort/tech package. My dealer said because of the chip shortage they had to remove the feature and he is not sure if it could be added at a later date. It’s not a deal breaker but some clarity on if I’ll be able to add it later would be nice.

FWIW I have a Route 1 rear-drive ER ordered and my order preview sheet shows the same deletion. If it means my car will be delivered before, vs. after the cows come home I'm okay with this. Long as it still has a backup camera I'm pretty sure I can parallel park the car the old-school way.

Would be nice to know if it could be added later though.

I'd have ordered a Select with the comfort-technology package if it were available with the extended range battery.

This feature is literally holding up production, according to my dealer. But, he also said it cannot be installed at the dealer. So it's strange they are removing without your consent.

Ugh, this is one of the reasons that I specced out the comfort/tech package. My senior mother will be driving the car a lot and, while she can park on her own, the rims are often… not happy with her skills.

First the kick tailgate and now the park assist… I’m starting to get a little ticked off…

At least they offered a bit of a credit for removing this feature — the kick tailgate was deleted with no compensation at all!

Also, my dealer just got back to me and confirmed that this feature is only being removed from the selects. The premiums, GT, etc will continue to arrive with the feature installed.

Well it looks like it was removed from my Route 1, so you might want to rethink "etc." in that sentence for greatest accuracy. I'd still rather have a car without that feature than no car with that feature.

I think that’s a fine opinion to have. But keep in mind that we all have different “minor” features that are dealbreakers for us. For instance, I wouldn’t mind not having memory seats — my car will be driven by the same person 99% of the time. But I imagine that for couples, a memory drivers seat delete, as is supposedly also being considered, might be a big dealbreaker. So for all you in this thread that are rolling your eyes at people being upset about such a “minor thing”, I would just keep this in mind.

I have a 2022 Select with the Comfort/Tech package ordered and scheduled for production, 11 April 2022. My window sticker notes Active Park Assist 2.0

It might be a recent thing where they are removing the feature. I ordered mine couple days ago.

Excellent point. For me the range is a huge deal, which is why I went with rear drive and the big battery, and 18" wheels so my back isn't mad at me after a long drive. If a Select had been available with the big battery that'd be the ideal vehicle for me. Most days I'll be able to charge up overnight with miles to spare, but a couple days a month I leave the house at 630, don't get back until about midnight and drive a good 200 miles in between. Being able to get through those 2 back to back days each month and still do most of my charging at home is important to me.
