Hoping this will start a conversation with those in the forum who have either swapped to something else or have another EV in their house

I'm a real estate agent that drives 3,000 miles a month.

Since buying my mach e gt I added a toddler to the mix..we also have 3 dogs. MN winters and a road trip to Chicago a few times a year.

Currently leaning slightly used EV9. They aren't dropping new ones on the market until the 2026s and that's supposed to be second half of the year.

R1s is hard to find a decent price used and all the 0% is on the 100k version.

Lightning they are dealing left and right on as the sales have plummeted.

Thanks in advance!

@locks66 I went to an EV9 Land after 4 years in the Mach-e. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about that transition.

The EV0 must be tiny! ;)
Oh man, what a typo, as usual trying to multitask and failing. We have an EV9, it’s great, i was firmly against any Hyundai/Kia product until I drive I’ve my first Genesis. The level of fit and finish, and features on the EV9 fits us nicely.

I turn in my second Mache in June and I have the refreshed Model Y on order that should arrive before I have to return my car. I have loved both of my Mache's (Premium and GTPE) but I'm ready for a change. I'm pretty excited about the Tesla and the full self drive.
I like the look of the refresh.

You know, I noticed that my range has dropped a LOT these past couple months. Damn you, Trump!!!

And to think that we were just a few months away from a DCFC on every corner. Except for Trump. I’m going to go cry into my pillow now.

I heard from a buddy that GM is giving some incredible discounts on the Silverado EV right now. He said he leased one with an MSRP of $95,000 for only $15,000 down and $500 a month.

Since it's a lease, Chevy must be claiming and apparently passing on the $7,500 tax credit, but still, my Mach-E was $15,000 down with $450 a month with an MSRP of $51,500 (not counting $7,500 federal tax credit) for four years.

If trucks are your jam, I would strongly consider it.
I believe that’s about $1000 per month.

There are some tremendous lease deals on GM EVs right now. Unfortunately OP drives 3,000 miles a month so leasing isn't going to work for him. The way GM structures their leases they definitely do not make good buy-out candidates.

An EV9 would be a better candidate for buy-out. Kia is offering $13k cash on certain leases and dealers are frequently taking 8%-10% off, so roughly $20k off MSRP looks possible depending on timing and negotiation skills.
Yeah, I have been wondering what my life would be like if I leased something and looked at a buyout at the end. I just don't know that I would really end up in a better place trying to "lease hack" if that's a thing

The MME is my first lease (I'm 50 yrs). Until the past few years, I easily put over 12,000 miles on a vehicle (some years 30,000+). Paying cash or taking out a loan is still your only reality, unfortunately. Not pouring salt into the wound, but the monthly lease payment cost reduction compared to a car loan is feeling like a victory at the moment.

Well like most EV's you never know what your gonna get. I Had my EV 9 land more than a year. It does have its issues, it runs great when working, I had 4 issues and 1 minor

1. I had my head unit completely replaced @ 6000 miles , left side of console died wouldn't respond to touch.

2. Driver seat worked its way loose @ 7300 , dangerous.

3. 3rd row seating came loose, turns out 2 bolts where missing in my 3 row seating. 7630

4. My finger print sensor died and had to be replaced. Last week 11257

5. I purchased a custom Lakers screen and it works except when I press the brakes, it shows the Clippers logo when i stop.

Kia USA was responsive I was reimbursed 4 at of the 5 times.
EV 9 total time in dealership is 8 weeks at of the year.

I use my EV 9 a lot, it runs great but it definitely has quality issues compared to my old Mach E and my current
Macan 4.

Pretty heavy numbers for the MME
Those numbers were for the Silverado EV.

For my Mach-E, the numbers today would be much better compared to what I paid when I got mine in February 2021. But the start of 2021 was right when deliveries were first starting for the Mach-E and Ford X-Plan was really the only discount that was available for the general public (like a grand off MSRP), which is what I got.

It was $15,000 down, $450 a month for 48 months. But $9,500 in federal and state tax credits were not applied at the time of purchase, while an additional $1,500 was. If I subtract that $9,500 from $15,000 and spread that out over 48 months and assume $0 down, my functional Ford Options 'lease' of my SR AWD Premium came out to about $565 a month.

Multiple seats coming loose in the same car is crazy. Even one seat coming loose is something that would be a big deal to me. I thought the Korean brands were long past issues like this. That's really surprising, I hope Kia hustled to make it right.

My next will be a Lucid. Likely by the time I am ready to buy the new Earth mid sized SUV will be out. That being said out of the current models as a realtor I would drive something nice. My insurance agent warned me that most Kia and Hyundai models are extremely expensive to insure because of the theft issues and having had about a month of EV6 rentals for me it would rule out anything made by Kia and Hyundai.

Volvo XC40 EV ? Polestar 3 would be nice for low range loss in the cold. Used Lucid Air ?
