We've received about 70-80 inches of snow here in the past month and a half...
Next week I need to find someone to plow my driveway lol. We're going to make the trip up and see if there was any more damage. I've lost at least 6 trees this winter.

Your location says Arizona...you guys get snow like that?
Yes, the northern parts get snow all the time. And Tucson does too from time to time.

I really wonder how the stock GTPEs Pirellis will perform in the cold.
I picked up my car in November in St. Louis. I couldn't swap my stock Pirelli tires for about two weeks. I only drove for maybe 150 miles in mid-30s F while waiting for the new tires, so the stock tires didn't crack but it felt like I was driving on stone tires. It was rough. The tires I got were all-weather Michelin, which were so much smoother a ride.

Yep. Flagstaff is one of the snowiest cities in the US. Average of 100 inches of snow a year, used to be about 110 to 120 inches, but it's been decreasing over the past couple of decades. And it seems like it's been coming in larger, less frequent dumps.

Sorry to hear about your trees! It's been a rough winter. We've mostly survived it pretty well...so far.

What charger cover are you using here? I read somewhere that the mache charger area can’t hold up magnet covers

Just bizarre weather. Here in Northeast PA just north of Philly, it's now been 15 months without anything but a dusting of snow. Now that we're soon into March we'll likely be 24 months by the time next winter rolls around.

Being one who grew up on frozen ponds, I'm jealous of all the snow.
Speaking from the western suburbs of Philly, I’m happy for our lack of snow. Maybe the state can use the savings to buy PennDOT an additional Toro snowblower, so we’re ready when the “big one” hits?
Note: in Southeastern PA, we define the “big one” as total accumulations of more than 1 inch ?

Anyone that doesn't have a an actual set of winter tires for any vehicle is only asking for trouble
You know, I WOULD get dedicated winter tires, but I literally have no place to store them (I’m NOT hauling tires to and from the basement!)
If Ford wanted to make money off me, they’d offer a “tire valet service” as a subscription. They’d store the tires I’m not using and swap the tires as requested. They wouldn’t even have to store them on-site since I’d obviously make an appointment for tire swapping. Easiest money the dealer could hope for!

it's only 185 miles apart, but 5000 ft up :)
All joking aside, I’m sure it’s beautiful. I’m actually fond of the desert southwest (in the summertime, when the weather’s decent of course!)

You are correct cold temperatures noticeably reduce traction but you can drive. They will perform like completely bald tires in a torrential downpour. The compound will be hard and the tires may feel extremely stiff or even you may feel flat spots for the first few miles you drive. Somewhere like the bay area where it's rare to get cold temps be extra careful and you should be OK. Now if you add wintery conditions like snow and ice they are dangerous.
I don't think that is accurate, summer tires apparently do better in rain than all-seasons. If it gets very cold while raining, that is different, but just a torrential downpour still within proper temps for summers to perform? You will be fine.

I'll have to look it up. We had a magnetic one and it was a failure. Not only is the quarter panel not magnetic, the magnet triggers the Ford Mobile Charger's disconnect button if it gets too close to the button so stops the charging if it's not placed perfectly. The new one uses velcro and is a bit more firm material.

What you're seeing in the photo is a misconfiguration, probably caused by the winds (about 75 mph the night before I took this photo), but also possibly caused by me not covering the port door properly. The cover is usually over the charge port door.

Seems like it's also spreading it up here to Minneapolis more. We get snow up here pretty good but not like what the past two years have been like. Just got 19" here officially from this storm. Slowly digging out. Might take the car out to do some doughnuts in the parking lot once it's plowed out. lol
