Yes and no.Hi there, I just discover this thread. Thank to all contributors, it's amazing.
I have two questions : are others VE subject to this limitations too, and which ones ? In particular, do the RWD Mach-E have a performance limiter ?
Agreed.+4 mph in the 1/8th and 8mph in the 1/4 gain will do work against the Polestar for sure after you do the upgrade.
It's a pretty good improvement all around.
On these All-Season tires, normally I can get a 1.79 60' on the street, mostly in the low 1.8's
Typically 7.6's in the 1.8th and 11.8-9ish in the 1/4.
0-60 is around 3.5-3.7.
It's a solid performance gain for the $$ spent, especially considering to gain 8mph in the 1/4 the amount of coin it takes on a comparable gas vehicle.
It still has the stock ones on it. I do not recall the brand. There is slight wheel spin on the track, quite a bit more on the street. I think with no wheel spin, the car is capable of a 11.7x and a low 1.7x 60', but so far have not been able to get a 100% no spin pass down with these tires.Just out of curiosity, which all season tires do you run on the track?
No upgrade for older models. The limit has been later in later models but at an optional price of around $1000. The Rally has no limit and I suspect option cost is figured into the base price.Hi everyone,
I'm getting my 2023.75 Mach-E GT next week. Has the power reduction issue been improved by now? Is there an update available that allows you to access full power for a longer period?
Thanks guys
I do not drive on the highway much so hopefully someone with experience will answer. My understanding is the power will taper off at higher speeds but it will still be relatively quick.Oh man, that really sucks. Unfortunately, I didn't do enough research beforehand. I hope I won't notice it too much in day-to-day driving. By the way, it's a GTPE (in Germany, we only have the Performance Edition). Do I actually have those 5 seconds available to me at all times? I mean, can I always accelerate quickly up to 70ā80 mph?
Greetings
Depends on what you class as quick, for most parts of the world once you get up to 70/80mph you will be at the highway / motorway speed limits and in that the vehicles top speed is only 124mph so far below even 1980s standards, so its not like it has much extra beyond that.I do not drive on the highway much so hopefully someone with experience will answer. In cold weather, if the battery isnāt preconditioned, youāll lose a ton of power. If at maximum amount of jail bars , youāll need to be a bit mindful. If itās only at half the maximum amount of jail bars, itās really not too bad (to me anyway). There is also no precondition button hardware/software on the Mache sadly.Unfortunately, none of that sounds very promising. I'll see for myself at the end of the week when I receive the MME. I hope I don't regret it. Thanks for the replies.

Youāre confusing the Performance Upgrade (PU) with the timed and thermal power limiter. The PU is a $1,000.00 paid upgrade to 700 lbs/ft of torque.on the GT and is part of the Rally option on the GT. The timed and thermal power limiter does not exist for at least 12 seconds on 2024 and newer GTs.No upgrade for older models. The limit has been later in later models but at an optional price of around $1000. The Rally has no limit and I suspect option cost is figured into the base price.
You do not always have 5 seconds. The power limiter is based off of a moving time window, the thermal sensors, and vehicle speed. You have 5 seconds if the car has not been driven or has been driven sedately and brought to a full stop. You have less than 5 seconds if you are at speed. The ājail barsā start to appear at 73 mph/116 kph and start as one tiny bar that you will not notice much then progress quickly to engulf 40% or so of your power meter by the time you are at 78 mph/124 kph. If you drive it hard for a period of time and back off, it takes time for the ājail barsā to recede. So if you have driven hard and back off you will have a power reduction for some time until things have cooled off.Oh man, that really sucks. Unfortunately, I didn't do enough research beforehand. I hope I won't notice it too much in day-to-day driving. By the way, it's a GTPE (in Germany, we only have the Performance Edition). Do I actually have those 5 seconds available to me at all times?
