I live in hot environment in the summer, and at times leave my wife or dog in the Mach-e and the A /C on while running into an appointment. Does anyone know is there any guidance or a limit on how long we can leave the Mach-e and A/C "on" while parked? For example, since the car is not moving, will the battery overheat?

Thx

It has a built in timer to shut the car down at 30 minutes idle. (Not total drive time but time sitting idle in park). You'll want to disable that in the settings if you want it to go longer. The battery and the car will be fine. If the pavement gets super hot and it's say 115+ the AC will suffer sitting parked. Not saying it wont work (though my FFE has shut the AC off fully from time to time to cool the battery, then it kicks back to the AC) it won't be as cold. Setting it to like 75 and manually turning the fan up will keep air moving more than using AUTO which will turn it down a bit and the very back of the car heats up from the sun. Do you have a sun share for the roof? That'd help during the summer for this.

30 min is the answer as stated above.

In terms of overheating battery etc, I’ve never heard of that happening anywhere. Car is made to keep the battery cool as needed, even in Arizona in the summer.

In terms of leaving your dog in the car, check your local statutes. It’s illegal in some places to leave a dog in a hot car, even with it running, and really bad if it shuts off after 30 min.

No laws against leaving the wife.
