I've had my MME for just 12 days now. I have been closely monitoring the GOM and Efficiency estimates during various trips I take. I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere here (I didn't see it in my searches but that's not saying much - I'm probably not hitting the right terms).
I know the GOM is exactly what it is - but I've seen numerous people on here suggest to watch the % battery remaining and the MME's reported energy efficiency figures for a more accurate indication of available range.
It seems that the Fordpass app reports considerably higher Energy Efficiency numbers than the MME itself does for the current trip. My commute is about 45 miles of expressway at 70mph, then 5 miles of 55mph heading to/from expressway. It was a pretty windy day here and my reported energy efficiency in the car was saying 2.0-2.2Mi/kWh while holding 70mph headed west. Climate control was set to 65, heated seat on high, steering wheel heat on. I got home, parked the car and it reported 2.1Mi/kWh for the trip. When I logged in to Fordpass this evening, my total trip was 55.1 miles, I used 20.5kWh, and the energy efficiency reported 2.7mi/kWh in the app. The fordpass numbers calculate out perfectly......
So it seems that maybe the efficiency numbers reported by the MME are also pessimistic? (I am totally OK with it being in that direction BTW).
As an aside - I love everything about this ride..... except for the way the Frunk has to be closed. I don't like having to slam and/or get fingerprints on the hood. I wish it at least had the power pulldown latch like the power liftgates have. I can see that becoming a mod in the near future.
