MME no longer allows wireless carplay?

Hi All, driving back from FL to Canada. My phone suddenly stopped being recognized by the car. iphone 13, latest patches all installed, car and phone. The only way to connect was via cable. anybody had this happen to me? How did you fix it? it was fine on the way south. Maybe phone wanted to stay on vacay?

Have you tried deleting the phone from the car and the car from the phone and then re-pairing the phone to the car first? A lot of times this will solve the connection problem.

Reboot the phone
Reboot sync

if that doesn’t work delete and reads phone. Not sure if it breaks PAAK if you use that.

couldn't be bothered to do it on the road, I just plugged in with a cable. I was stil almost 700miles from home when it happened. But I'll try tomorrow.

My wireless CarPlay is sporadic - it works fine at times and loses connection or won’t connect after I stop. So I just connect the cable now.

Reboot sync. You can do this while you are tooling down the road. It very much beats staring at sync trying to figure out what is going on.

On the steering wheel simultaneously hold the volume-down and also the "Next Track" button (just to the right of the volume control ... the arrow pointing right).

my normal method is to reboot sync and then the phone if it still won’t work.

Not sure if it's true with CarPlay as with Android Auto, but my wireless experience is sporadic too. It'll work for a week then get pissy and not work for a few starts then start working again. Since I don't have another wireless vehicle I can't say whether its the MachE or the Phone / Android. I suspect the phone, there's logic around "last connected bluetooth" that behaves kinda this way.

Since the wireless charging pad is anemic, I have to plug in anyway on longer trips, so always have the cable handy, so usually throw it on the cable if I'm going to be more than a short trip. Eyeing that wireless pad upgrade....

I have the same issues sometimes and have found sometimes just turning off my phone and turning it back on will reset Bluetooth wonkiness.

Occasionally wireless CarPlay won't connect even though I have both BT connections. It usually comes back the next time I start the car. To me, it's not a big deal since I don't rely on wireless CarPlay. I suppose that will change when my complimentary Ford Navigation subscription runs out (unless they charge less yearly for it than they did for map updates for my Fusion). ?‍?

I have the same dropping connection issue with my G-S9 and Android auto. So I use a cable as well.
