Ford Mustang Mach-E Mobile charger error at home, not reproducing at dealership IMG_0015

Error comes on at home after about 5-10 minutes. Dealership had it plugged in for 40 minutes (220v) and were not able to reproduce.
any ideas what this error is? Overheating? Something wrong with my at home electrical setup?

What are the lights doing? Check owners manual for error codes. Flashing versus steady indicates various errors.

Did you watch the dealer test it? My dealer said no issue found, then i read the work order reciept and it said they didn’t have. 220v outlet to test it. Mine died after 10months of use. I got Ford to replace it as this is a common fault. It’s the overheating light And slows down the charge. Mine never felt warm or got hot, just thinks it was overheating. I put the new one in the trunk and got a new level 2 charger Pulsar wall box and no issues in the last 2 years.

When you try it at home check for overheating of the charger, the outlet, and the circuit breaker. If it is truly working at the dealership then the problem is your circuit.

Yes. After they said no issue, I asked them to put it on and I arrived 40 min later, and didn’t see any errors on the charger.

Do not use an extension cord is what my dealership told me. But kept doing it. Then was told it was a know. They kept the car for two days on their socket and couldn’t replicate. Went home happen again took photos. Dealership said it was a known issue and ordered me a new one as vehicle was under warranty.

Depends on what the lights are doing. The Mach E Manual explains what the lights mean.

Yes there is an on line manual. Go to Ford website and select support and service. You can enter your VIN.

I am guessing that the dealer’s 240V outlet is in an air conditioned area and yours isn’t. The errors will continue for you and get more frequent as the EVSE degrades due to the problem until it just fails completely on you. The Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) isn’t known to be the most robust unit. My FMC is sitting in my Family Room in its bag. It’s never given me this issue but I replaced it with a Tesla Mobile Connector because there is a place that I go to occasionally that has 10-30R outlets, so I needed something I could dial back to 24A. I already had a Tesla to J1772 adapter so that was not a big deal. ??
