I was wondering if anyone knows what about the Ford Performance battery guard makes it not fit the Standard Range battery cars.

I'm interested in lowering my Mach-E but want to have something in place for the potential of occasional light scrapes. I see the guard for the Rally and think it would do what I wanted. However it says it will not fit the Standard Range batteries.

Is this because the physical dimension / shape of the batteries are different? Or is it something as simple as the mounting points are different and new mounting holes could be added manually to make it work?

Thanks in advance :)

@Mach-Lee I wonder - do you know if we can use this guard as the cover for the battery insulating layer in the winter?

No, only fits extended batteries. They are different on the underside.

Unknown, nobody has bought it yet to my knowledge to know if you could put an insulating layer under it or not. It looks like there would only be about a 1/4" gap to put insulation, not very much, and it's interrupted by the foam spacer standoffs every foot or so. It's honestly too expensive to be worth it IMO.

I'm not familiar with what the underside of the standard-range battery looks like, but I do believe the mounting points would be the only issue for this shield kit.

This is what I imagine too, however I have nothing to back this thought up. It's only a theory.
